However, after careful consideration and considering the increasing population and influence of the Hui people in the northwest region, it was decided to establish the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

In 1957, the Ningxia Autonomous Region was formally established, including Yinchuan, Wuzhong, Guyuan, and the two counties that were originally part of the Pingliang Special Economic Zone. At this time, the area of ??Ningxia was determined to be 66,400 square kilometers.

The following year, Ningxia was officially born today, and not much has changed to this day.

In general, in the past, Ningxia was just a place below Gansu. When living alone, it only looked larger on the surface. Today's Ningxia is much larger than the Ningxia that just took off in the Northern Dynasties, and the actual management area is also much larger.
