Help design a trip to Yangshuo
There are at least 4 routes to play around Yangshuo, and each route takes about a day. I have arranged them in order of personal importance and introduced them in detail:
1. Yulong River, known as the Little Li River
Take a minibus to Jinbao at Yangshuo Bus Station (3.5 yuan/ people) to Fuli Bridge. Remember, be sure to stutter and tell the ticket seller clearly that you are going to Fuli Bridge, otherwise he will leave you at Yulong Bridge.
Fuli Bridge is located in the upper reaches of Yulong River and has a long history. It was rebuilt in the 2nd year of the Republic of China.
After browsing Fuli Bridge, go down the east bank (right hand along the river) to reach Jinlong Bridge (30 minutes walk, all on the ridge, very exciting and challenging), Jinlong Bridge is a new bridge , built in 1963, is nothing to see. Cross the Jinlong Bridge and go to the west bank, continue going down, and you will reach Yulong Bridge in about an hour (many people only go to Yulong Bridge, which is a complete mistake. In fact, the most beautiful thing is Fuli Bridge). I went there during the Spring Festival, and the local rapeseed flowers were in full bloom. The large rapeseed flowers set off the ancient Fuli Bridge, which was very charming (I asked the locals, and they said that the white flowers in their area are rapeseed, which is strange).
After arriving at Yulong Bridge, if you still want to continue to torture yourself, you can continue walking down the west bank to the Big Banyan Tree. This walk takes about 4-6 hours and is a severe test of physical endurance. If you don’t want to torture yourself, you can take a bamboo raft down the river from Yulong Bridge to the Big Banyan Tree. The price of chartering a bamboo raft is about 150 yuan (depending on your charm and bargaining ability). You will encounter 26 dams along the way. If it is the dry season, the owner of the bamboo raft will go down and push the bamboo raft over every dam. It is very interesting. It takes at least 1.5 hours to go down the river.
Along the way, the reflections of strange peaks and green bamboos form a magnificent landscape painting on the clear blue river. In addition, the pastoral scenery on both banks is picturesque, simple and real. It is definitely worth being fascinated!
Bamboo rafts are very common in Guangxi. You must sit on them and experience the feeling of excitement, tension and comfort later.
It should be noted that you'd better find a few companions to complete this journey together. Because you are walking on field ridges throughout the entire journey, it may be difficult for those who have no experience in the wild. Also, this strategy is a summary of my experience after hiking the whole route. It is absolutely the essence. Any other choice is not as exciting as the one introduced above. Remember!
After arriving at the Big Banyan Tree, you can visit the outside. In fact, you just go in and look at the tree. If you have seen Yulong River, you won’t be very interested in this place, and it costs 15 yuan to enter!
There are many cars going back to Yangshuo from Darongshu, most of which are vans. You can rent a car to return, or you can take a long-distance bus at the roadside. As long as it is not too late, you don’t have to worry about not being able to get home. If that doesn't work, you can rent a farmer's walking tractor or motorcycle to take you back. :)
2. Lijiang River
The best way to see the Lijiang River is to take the shuttle bus to Xingping in Yangshuo (3.5 yuan/person) and go to Xingping.
Xingping is a village on the edge of the Li River and the end point of the Yangdi-Xingping scenic line.
If you are interested in folk customs, you must remember to take a walk in Xingping Old Street, take a look, sit in other people’s houses, and chat with the owners. There is an old theater with exquisite carvings in Xingping Primary School. If you like ancient buildings, you can go and see it. The specialty of Xingping is wooden slippers. There is a teacher named Yang (I think, I can’t remember clearly) who specializes in making these wooden slippers. They are very comfortable to wear and are very suitable for walking on the stone road. Buy a pair of wooden slippers before you go shopping. Ping Old Street will have a unique flavor.
After you arrive in Xingping, you will encounter many people pestering you to ask if you want to charter a boat. The purpose of this trip is to find a kind person who will charter his boat and take a trip to the Yangdi-Xingping scenic route. During the Spring Festival, the price for chartering a boat was 180 yuan per boat, and the round trip took about 4 hours.
If you want to take pictures, be sure to make an agreement with the boat operator to stop the boat at any time.
Guangxi has strict tourism management, so there is generally no danger. But some people will play some tricks, such as saying that they need to return early for something, etc. In this case, you must refuse or ask them to refund your money! Remember!
Personally, I think the most worthwhile thing to see along the Yangdi-Xingping scenic route is the scenery of the Li River behind the 20 yuan you encountered just 10 minutes after leaving Xingping. Remember to change a 20 yuan ticket and bring Bibi with you before you go.
In addition, the 9 Horses Painting Mountain is also very interesting. It is said that the richer the people, the more horses they see. Chairman Mao saw 9 horses, and Premier Zhou only saw 6 horses. See how many you can see (special reminder, in fact There are only 7 horses on that big rock, and the other 2 horses are called pioneer horses and the other are called lagging horses).
The latest shuttle bus from Xingping back to Yangshuo is around 6 o'clock, so pay attention to the time.
On the Internet, many masochistic donkeys advocate hiking along the Li River. I'm a disciple too. It feels bad. Because the viewing angle of the hiking route is very high, many scenery cannot be seen (for example, the scenery behind the 20 square meters can only be seen on the boat. It is easy to miss the hiking. I just hiked first and then took the boat again before I was willing to do it. ) and most places are far away from the river, and most of what you see is pastoral scenery (it was the dry season when I went there, and the river beach is very wide. You can walk on the river beach, but sometimes there are no roads. At that time, you want to climb high. Dams are no easy task). The biggest advantage of hiking the Lijiang River is that you can sit opposite the Nine Horse Painting Mountain and count the horses carefully (there is a ferry there, so you can wait for the boat).
If you have enough time, you can also try hiking. The starting point of the hike is from Yangdi. Hiking from Guilin is purely self-inflicted. If you are short on time, it is recommended to go hiking on the Yulong River, and it is better to take a boat trip on the Li River!
At Yangdi Ferry, it is said that there is an old man selling delicious roast duck and the like. I have never tried it, but a friend told me about it. If you see it, you might as well try it.
Following Clinton's footsteps, a place called Fishing Village has now become a tourist attraction.
It is actually a small village. Even though it is called a fishing village, no family in the village is a fisherman. As for why it is called this name, even the old people in the village cannot explain clearly.
Don’t take a boat to the fishing village, it’s dark and worthless. The correct way is to take the ferry at Xingping Pier to the opposite village (1 yuan/person), then walk about one kilometer along the Li River and then take a bamboo raft to the opposite ferry (2 yuan/person). The old ferryman is always there. If you can't find anyone, you will definitely get a response if you shout a few times. After continuing for about 3 kilometers, you can enter the village from the back of the fishing village (save the entrance fee of 5 yuan/person). If you are lucky, you may encounter a ferry that takes you directly from Xingping Pier to the fishing village, which is the most suitable (5 yuan/person).
The old houses in the village have a strong Cantonese flavor, and because many of them belong to aristocratic families, the houses are very grand. It should be noted that you must not walk in the direction of the ticket office. If you see an abandoned China Telecom phone box, stop quickly, otherwise you will be asked to pay for a replacement ticket if you are discovered. If you refuse to make up the ticket, you will be kicked out, but that doesn't matter, because the village is on a peninsula, and a long walk along the river will lead you back to the place where you came in in the back mountains.
Several places that Clinton visited back then are now taking this opportunity to do business. The place where Clinton's photo hangs is the place where the old man visited. One of them can go up to the roof (specially built stairs, 2 yuan/person) to see the whole village scenery.
Looking into the reason for Clinton's visit, it turned out that there was a teacher in Chelsea who had a doctorate from China. He had a good relationship with the Clinton family. This man was from the fishing village. It is estimated that he promoted the goodness of his hometown to Clinton, and even persuaded the president, creating the tourism industry in the fishing village today (now almost every cruise ship passing here will introduce the fishing village to tourists). After getting to know more deeply, I found that the people in the fishing village are really not simple. The reason why there are so many beautiful old houses here is because the people in the fishing village attach great importance to education (you can see at least 2 schools in the fishing village), so there are many "cultural people" in the village. I chatted with a few villagers casually, I found that there are many people in this village who have studied abroad or have been high officials before, far more than other places. This is definitely inseparable from the fact that the village has always attached great importance to education. So don’t be blindly arrogant when you get here. Any villager kid might be a foreigner who has just returned to China and jumped in the queue!
What’s very interesting is that I saw a couplet at the door of a primary school in the village, but I forgot the original couplet. The general idea is that if you don’t study, you will have NO MONEY, NO WOMEN and so on! whee!
The specialty here is grapefruit, as well as gadgets made from grapefruit peels. Even though this little thing only costs 1-2 yuan here, when you get to Yangshuo, it will cost you at least 5 yuan!
3. Moon Mountain-Big Banyan Tree-Takata-Langzi
This is a classic cycling tour route. You can rent a bicycle in Yangshuo.
I rented from the one across from California. The boss and the lady boss were very nice and the price was fair (5-10 yuan/day).
It takes about 40 minutes to ride from Yangshuo to Moon Mountain. If you are interested, it is best to take the small road to see more pastoral scenery. I have been to every fork along the way, and the scenery in many places is much better than on the main road!
If there are many people there, you can look around.
Going to Langzi is absolutely self-inflicted. There are at least 6 kilometers of gravel roads, which are very difficult to walk, and when you go there, it is almost all uphill. Be careful with your PP!
Langzi is an old village. It is full of old houses from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The oldest among them is a Jinshi house built in the 4th year of Tongzhi. The whole village is divided into several parts, but most of them have the surname Tan.
The largest and most beautiful house in the village belonged to a rich man in the past. The layout is very strange. The ancestral hall and the residence are side by side, and the main entrance is not built facing the river (in ancient times, house building paid attention to Feng Shui. They believed that water It is for wealth, so opening the door and seeing the water is equal to opening the door and seeing the wealth). The house has a very tall tower like a fortress, which is covered with shooting holes. According to local people, the Japanese invading army had been here before, and the landlord and his people had blocked the Japanese in this bunker. Nowadays, many Japanese people come here to visit, maybe they just want to see the place where they were beaten. After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the family went to Hong Kong. After the reform and opening up, they came back and set up some kind of school in Guilin, but they rarely went home. Therefore, this big house has been occupied by villagers, and it gradually became abandoned.
There is a very interesting thing, which is a wall of the ancestral hall of the big house. Perhaps because this wall is so wide and long, almost all the slogans from liberation to the present are concentrated here. From liberation to the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, we have all three representatives until today, which is a microcosm of history.
All of Lang Zi’s old houses are now occupied, including the largest one. And there is no admission fee. If someone asks you for money, it must be an arbitrary charge.
If you can’t adapt to bumpy roads, I suggest you stop at Takata. This road actually doesn’t take long, so there’s no need to rush. Riding around leisurely is also a kind of vacation, isn’t it?
On this road you will encounter a water cave (WHTER CAVE), which is also a cave, but it has not been developed much. There is a mud bath inside, and foreigners go in naked to take a bath (men and women are not distinguished, of course), so if you have a voyeuristic desire, you can go and take a look!
You will encounter many villages along the way. It will be very rewarding to take more turns and go in.
If you ride to Takata, the butt flowering degree will be: 30%
If you want to ride to Langzi, the butt flowering degree will probably be as high as: 100%
4 , Shutong Mountain-Snow Lion Ridge-Welfare
This is also a cycling route, but it is more difficult. But this road is more leisurely and less crowded.
To take this road, you must first go to Yangshuo Bridge, and then go down the path under Yangshuo Bridge (you can see a path going down to the river before Yangshuo Bridge, that's it). After passing Tianjiahe, you can see Shutong Mountain (a very tall independent mountain, which you can see from Big Banyan Tree). Tianjiahe is a very nice small river with many wooden bridges on it. I once saw a foreigner lying on the wooden bridge and reading a book leisurely. It was so cool.
After crossing the Tianjia River, walk towards Shanmu Village from the fork in the road, and you can go down to the riverside. There is a small moon gate on the roadside. From there, you can go up to the Snow Lion Peak, or you can go down the steps to the river (actually it is a place where locals wash clothes). From the riverside, you can watch the boats going by and the Snow Lion Peak, Shutong Mountain.
After coming out of Shanmu Village, you can ride southeast along the Xin Road at the entrance of the village for about 1.5-2 hours to reach Dutou Village (there is a big stone at the entrance of the village with "Closed Mountain" written on it. To the right of this big rock is the new road). This road is very difficult to walk, especially after it rains, and it becomes very muddy, but it is only a section. Moreover, a long section of this road is along the river, and you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of the Li River, which is very worthwhile.
As the name suggests, Dutou Village is a village with a ferry. After entering the village, you have to ask for directions to find the ferry (because it is relatively hidden). After arriving at the ferry, you can cross it with your car and people, and the cost is very low (2 yuan/person). The place where you cross the river and land is welfare.
Welfare is an ancient town with a history of thousands of years. It looks across the Li River from Dutou Village.
There are many ancient buildings to visit here, so take a look at them along the way!
After visiting Welfare, ride the main road back to Yangshuo. The road is easy to walk, but there is almost no scenery. So it will definitely be a loss if you ride this way!
Ass flowering degree: 60%
By the way, the car rental company across from California is very good. The boss and his wife are very enthusiastic, and the boss will personally test the car for you. The car is very good and costs 5-15 yuan/day.
