It is of great significance to strengthen malaria prevention and control and prevent its resurgence. In May 2007, the Sixtieth World Health Assembly passed a resolution deciding that from 2008 onwards, April 25 of each year or one or more days decided by individual member states will be designated as "World Malaria Day". Based on the actual situation, our country has decided to designate April 26 every year as "National Malaria Day".

April 26, 2016 is the seventh "National Malaria Day". In order to further mobilize the whole society to pay attention to and support the work of eliminating malaria, we should widely publicize malaria prevention and control knowledge and ensure that the "China National Malaria Day" can be achieved as scheduled. The goals set in the Malaria Elimination Action Plan (2010-2020), according to the "Notice of the General Office of the National Health and Family Planning Commission on Organizing and Carrying out National Malaria Day Publicity Activities in 2016" (x Health Office Disease Control Letter [2016] No. x) According to the requirements and combined with the actual situation of our city, we have decided to launch a series of publicity and education activities on National Malaria Day. The publicity theme is "Eliminate malaria and enjoy health". The relevant work requirements are now as follows:

1. Carry out targeted malaria prevention and control publicity activities

In recent years, our city has Significant progress has been made in the elimination of malaria. However, with the increasing frequency of international exchanges, especially the significant increase in people going to Africa, Southeast Asia and other high-endemic areas for business, tourism and work, the proportion of imported malaria cases from abroad has increased year by year. All units should closely focus on the publicity theme of "National Malaria Day", use radio, television, the Internet, newspapers and other media to innovate publicity methods and publicize malaria prevention and control knowledge in a targeted manner. In particular, they should strengthen the promotion of malaria prevention and control knowledge for people going abroad for business, tourism and work. 2. Conscientiously implement various prevention and control measures

All relevant departments must strengthen communication and coordination with relevant departments such as education, commerce, entry-exit inspection and quarantine, press, publication, radio and television, tourism, etc. We should conscientiously organize and implement the "China Malaria Elimination Action Plan (2010-2020)" and implement various prevention and control measures, especially strengthening the management of imported malaria cases.

Medical and health institutions at all levels and of all types must conscientiously carry out case discovery, diagnosis, treatment, reporting and epidemic response in accordance with the requirements of the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Law" and the "Technical Plan for Malaria Elimination (2011 Edition)".
