An enlightened person has no feelings.
An enlightened person has no feelings. People who are not enlightened will be troubled by various thoughts in their hearts. Enlightened people will not become immortals immediately, nor will they become buddhas in situ. Of course, fewer and fewer people know this in modern times. Some people will ask, for example, enlightened people have no feelings.
Enlightened people have no feelings to realize, and things must be gradually removed.
Enlightenment is not cultivation, let alone enlightenment. Enlightenment is only to understand "reason"; Trouble proves that Bodhi's practice is "thing". "You can have an epiphany, but things must be gradually removed." Therefore, it is wrong to say that the enlightened Zen virtue has become a Buddha. Enlightenment is not a Buddha, but you still need to learn after you are sober. Illiteracy begins with philology.
For example, although Master Liu Zu has achieved understanding, he has to be read by others because he can't read. It can also be seen that reason can be enlightened and things need to be repaired step by step. On the other hand, we know that Sakyamuni Buddha only taught Maitreya Buddha, but not others, so we can also know that seeing nature clearly is not the same as becoming a Buddha. Enlightenment is only enlightenment, and becoming a Buddha requires the merits of practice.
When you meditate, you should understand that you are no different from the Buddha's heart. This "understanding" is not cultivated, but proved. However, we who study teachings have to experience 10,000 robberies when we are full of faith.
The disaster of 10,000 years is a long time-the life span of a person ranges from ten years to 84,000 years, increasing by one year every 100 years, and decreasing by one year every 100 years. Such an increase or decrease is a minor disaster. A thousand small robberies constitute a medium robbery, and a thousand medium robberies constitute a big robbery.
It takes three monks to become a Buddha. Enlightened people are only equivalent to achieving the first great robbery, and then they have to repair the cause of benefiting all beings. Bodhisattva should seek from the five civilizations, and bodhisattva should learn medical skills.
However, Zen holds that the mind is clear and nature is Buddha, which is no different from Buddha. In doctrine, it is a "vegetarian". Therefore, although our body nature is equal to that of the Buddhas, the so-called Zen can't be compared with the merits of the Buddhas. Buddha has the merit of benefiting all beings, and the achievement of understanding is only the heart, not the merit of benefiting all beings.
See nature clearly, achieve self-mind.
Scholar chanting, laughing to death the old monk.
Therefore, don't misunderstand when chanting. When I was in Nanputuo, an old professor came to Nanputuo and saw the Beijing Sutra on the wall, "If people are distracted and enter the stupa temple, it is said that there is no Buddha in the south and it has become a Buddhist", so he made a suggestion: "The slogan on the wall is wrong. I kowtow with my hands crossed every day, but I don't just bow with my hands crossed. But why haven't you become a Buddha yet? " This is a scholar chanting scriptures and laughing the old monk to death.
I told him, "This is a misunderstanding of the Bible. Anyone who crosses his hands and bows his head is the cause of becoming a Buddha. Only on this basis can we practice Buddhism. Therefore, the decision to become a Buddha is not now, but on the basis of the reasons for becoming a Buddha, and it can only be realized after a long period of practice. "
"Hokkekyo" has endowed all sentient beings. This is the correct understanding of meditation. More generally speaking, Zen is life, and life is guided by the heart.
Zen has a wide range. In disguise, Zen is Buddha and Buddha is Zen. As we said before, Zen is a very simple enlightenment, which means that everyone has the same Buddha nature as Buddha, and everyone can become a Buddha. Just like everyone has the right to study in Fudan, but whether they can get in depends on their own efforts and struggles.
For the goal of becoming a Buddha, not only people, but even an ant has Buddha nature. In the Buddha's view, human nature, animal nature and all beings can achieve Buddha nature. As we know, "Buddha" is a transliteration of Indian Sanskrit Buddha. After Buddhism was introduced into China, people in China gradually omitted it as "Buddha".
The meaning of Buddha is awareness, consciousness and wisdom. And this kind of consciousness is not limited to yourself, but also can make others realize it. One evil thought is extinguished, and three good things are achieved. So Buddhism is the way to achieve goodness, consciousness and wisdom.
If you don't lose consciousness in life, you will achieve Buddhism and Taoism. And Zen is to make us miss it in our lives, so Zen covers a wide range. For example, the word "Buddhist field selection" is hung in front of the meditation hall, which is to let people know the essence of Zen and reach the realm of Buddhism.
The heart in "knowing the nature" is not the heart in our body. This heart has a wide range, and everything expressed in words, such as the three thousand worlds, the western paradise and so on, is in the heart. This mind, this body, or "awareness" often mentioned in scripture, is equal to the mind achieved by Buddha.
It's just that this is the difference between an ordinary man and a Buddha. And the heart we are using now is not this kind of "sincerity", but delusion. This delusion is that the seventh knowledge is attached to the last knowledge, and the seventh knowledge is attached to the eighth knowledge, the Arya knowledge. One is sincerity, the other is hypocrisy, and a hypocritical heart is the shadow of sincerity.
"Observing nature" has reached the "Ten Beliefs" in the doctrine. At this time, if you have enough self-confidence, you will no longer have evil thoughts and recreate bad karma. After the achievement of Ten Letters, I entered the "first residence" and lived in my heart. The difference between people who participate in meditation and those who just study teaching methods is that people who participate in meditation can achieve the purpose of understanding.
This is exactly what the Zen Hall preaches. Those who study teaching methods alone are far away from here, and have never even been to ten places, let alone the wonderful sleep of ten lines and ten places as Hua Yan said.
The evidence is that the bodhisattva who lived in the country first has great bodhicitta, and can appear as a Buddha and a great bodhisattva in one hundred worlds to transform all beings. With this magical power, it shows that you have really entered the house, and the bodhisattva who has a heart to live will be enlightened at the first time.
And we often say bodhicitta, in fact, what we do is "happy heart." Sincerity and trust in Buddhism are not true bodhicitta.
What we usually call "enlightened people" is not to recreate bad karma and understand that their mind is no different from Buddha's. But after reaching enlightenment, you need to continue to practice. Enlightened people don't even have the magical power of a bodhisattva, let alone a hundred years, even in this world, they can't show that the Buddha is a sentient being.
This is like a step-by-step education from primary school, middle school, high school and finally to university. Every step is to prepare for the next step. The same is true in Buddhism. If a person can't jump, it is by no means what Zen says, "Go straight to the point and prove Bodhi".
This kind of Buddha can only be said to be clear-minded. Different from Sakyamuni's enlightenment under the bodhi tree, Sakyamuni's enlightenment was realized through the practice of three great monks.
Just as a child prodigy is not worse than a college student who has undergone a series of education in wisdom, he simply doesn't understand the gradual process of education. Therefore, even if it is "to the point and prove Bodhi", only at this time can the wisdom of secular practice be revealed.
There is no cheap way in Buddhism. The dragon girl became a Buddha, and the rich boy became a Buddha, all of which were the results of infinite robbery and practice. Therefore, this is a gradual process from sudden to sudden.
Not only is practice not cheap, but there is nothing cheap in life. Some people suddenly get rich, and some people suddenly get into trouble, which is past lives's karma.
The same is true in learning. Some people learn quickly, while others are too stupid to know how to learn. People who can learn at once can have today's "meal" because of the wisdom accumulated in the past. For those who study Buddhism, we can't be greedy for petty gain.
All beings have Buddha nature.
Zen depends on oneself, and Buddha depends on others.
Meditation depends on oneself, and chanting Buddha depends on other forces. By visualizing and naming Amitabha or Guanyin Bodhisattva, you will get their blessing. The popular method of chanting Buddha is this kind of practice relying on other forces.
However, meditation is completely different. Taoist friends who participate in meditation will say that "the Buddha comes to the Buddha to chop, and the devil comes to chop", which is completely independent. People who read Buddha are completely different. They ask to see Buddha and rely on the merits of Buddha and Bodhisattva. Only by chanting Buddha and watching Buddha can you get the blessing of Buddha. We must make clear the difference between the two.
In life, if you have karma with Buddhism in your last life, such as studying and believing in Buddhism, you will be more excited and involved in Buddhism in this life.
If there is no such karma, there will be no such enthusiasm and investment. There are 6 billion people on the earth now, and many people believe in Buddhism, but not many people really invest.
I'm not afraid of your paranoia when I say this. Although all of you here have heard of Buddhism, you have not devoted yourself to it. Will you pay a lot for Buddhism? How can you get it without paying! Faith can only get the merits of faith, and paying more can get more merits.
This is not at all contrary to the blessing received by chanting Buddha. This life is blessed by buddhas and bodhisattvas, which is a good deed in previous lives and even previous lives. Because of this karma, we can feel deeply when we hear Buddhism in this life, and we will have a trembling feeling when we begin to believe in Buddhism.
The reason why I feel trembling is because the good roots are deep and I have been away from Buddhism for too long, and suddenly I have been blessed. And some people feel like it as soon as they hear the Buddha's name, but they are not excited and have not paid.
Sometimes we burn incense in temples, but we should know that burning incense is a custom rather than a belief. Beliefs and habits are different. The true faith is to closely link Buddhism with life. This is back to Zen.
I interpret Zen as a good cause, a good cause since ancient times. This is why when you see the Buddha, you will have a happy heart and you will be able to enter meditation. For example, "Who is a Buddhist?" Conversely: "Who is chanting Buddha?" What does this question mean? This is to invent our minds and find our noumenon. Our bodies are changeable and impermanent, transformed by karma created in previous lives.
For example, some students won the first place, and some students fell down first. It is impossible for all students to be the first, and it is impossible for all students to be the first. There must be an orderly ranking order.
If you want to surpass it, you must work hard. The harder you work, the more you surpass. The same is true for us who study Buddhism, and we should go beyond it step by step.
An enlightened person has no feelings. Three characteristics of an enlightened person.
Once I went to a temple, Confucius and his colleagues discussed one thing, that is, how do you know if the monks there are monks? One of his colleagues said an answer that impressed Confucius:
Give the monk a big scolding before entering the door to see if the monk will have a grudge. If he still smiles at you, he is a monk; If you keep quiet, you are a very powerful monk; If you leave, the level is ok; If I scold you, it is estimated that it is an ordinary role; If a group of monks come out to beat you, then you should run!
This is what the colleague said half jokingly, but it also shows that an enlightened person like a monk has put down the noise of the world. So what are the characteristics of truly enlightened people?
Feature 1: enlightened people, life will move from complex to simple.
First of all, it must be clear that enlightened people will not become immortals immediately, nor will they become Buddhas themselves. So they are not much different from ordinary people in appearance. But in their mentality, they are still very different from ordinary people. After enlightenment, people put down all their obsessions and are no longer restricted. For them, nothing, nothing.
In other words, everything in the world, such as promotion and salary increase, falling in love and getting married, and having children to support the elderly, are unnecessary options for enlightened people. They will do it as long as they are willing. No one can force them as long as they don't want to. But whether they like it or not, they don't really care. They can always let go of the "life events" in the hearts of ordinary people.
This feature is the basic feature of an enlightened person. Let go of stubborn people, and their lives will become simpler. Because they have lost their desire, nothing can stand in their way, so they will live as themselves, not as "I" shaped by society and others.
He doesn't need to be a "successful person" or a "good husband", "good wife", "good child" or "good parent". He doesn't care what other people think. Once you break through this tight string, you will naturally be enlightened!
Feature 2: enlightened people will be integrated with body and mind.
People who are not enlightened will be troubled by various thoughts in their hearts. Office workers will be eager to start a sideline business to make money after work; When students are in class, they think about how to secretly play mobile phones; When the wife is alone at home, she thinks about whether her husband who comes home late has been partying outside. The old man thought over and over again how he would leave this world at midnight.
Most of the time, we are doing what we are doing and thinking about other people or things. This is the daily life of people who are not enlightened. And enlightened people, they will be integrated with body and mind, and what the body is doing, they will think the same thing in their hearts. Whether it is Taoist meditation or Buddhist meditation, people are cultivating this kind of concentration.
Enlightened people often know the taste of food when they eat. Pay attention to the road ahead when they walk, and listen to their breathing when they retreat. Therefore, they are generally not in a hurry, not angry or stupid when things happen, and treat people regardless of their dignity. They are people who return to everything itself, and in them, you can experience a rare simple texture.
Feature 3: enlightened people do not engage in personality worship.
Enlightened people will understand that the Tao cannot be repaired, and the Tao itself is there. If you have an obsession, want to practice Buddhism and realize the Tao, it's just a mistake.
Therefore, truly enlightened people will never call themselves "enlightened experts", so people who call themselves "enlightened" are probably playing tricks. At the same time, enlightened people generally don't ask God to worship Buddha, because they know that people are comfortable and don't have to insist on avoiding obsession. Because it is an obsession to want to be promoted and get rich, and it is also an obsession to want bodhisattva to bless.
Confucius thought he was a layman, but he didn't have these three characteristics, because he still had a strong obsession with money and love in his heart.
An enlightened person has no feelings. 3. Really enlightened people's behavior.
A clever mind keeps its mouth shut, but a clever mind makes a false face. Enlightened people look like ordinary people. They still have feelings and secular desires, just like the sea. On the surface, it is turbulent and changeable, but inside, it is vigorous, quiet and infinitely broad.
Enlightened people don't engage in personal worship, and those who engage in personal worship are all uneducated people. How can a person who knows "no self", realizes that "everything is one with me" and understands equality and truth engage in personality worship? He can only stand on the road, stand on the whole, stand on "one for all things, all things are one", and stand on "each phase is different, that is, you can see the Buddha".
Sakyamuni once said, "It is heresy to worship me with color and beg me with sound, but not to see the Tathagata." What is the Tathagata? Tathagata is like going, coming or not-Tathagata is our own nature! If you come, you will die. If you don't come, you won't live or die. Come and die, that's the essence. What is the Tathagata? Tathagata is the Tao.
Is pottery made? Tao is self-sufficient, which is eternal and unchangeable. Without self-determination, it can't be created, can't be changed, and can only be recognized.
So the original intention of the Buddha is the awakened one, that is, the awakened one. As Zen master Huang Berberi said, "To become a Buddha after six degrees is the second time. If you don't start, you won't come again. " Practice is a realm, changeable, impermanent, promising, birth and death, endless. There is no time to practice, only one thought, "all magical powers are small skills, and emptiness is the avenue."
Who is repairing it? Who am I? This is the first problem to be solved as a practitioner. Consciousness is the foundation, practice is the purpose, and whether the purpose is the purpose is called inversion; Consciousness is the body, practice is the use, and body and use are the same. This is called nature. Consciousness is to solve "who am I", and practice is to solve and make a difference.
Only a truly enlightened person can have these performances.
If you practice without enlightenment, you will be bound by delusion all your life, and the result will be "dew like electricity, so look at it this way"; After enlightenment, practice is to "understand the spirit of heaven and earth alone", strike the sky with an eagle, dive to the bottom with a fish, and compete for freedom in all kinds of frost!
The enlightened mind is inseparable from the body and mind, and where the heart is, the heart is there. His heart is fixed on the true nature of life, "not changing with life, not changing with life." Only those who are integrated in body and mind can be happy for things, sad for themselves, humiliated, complacent and not pessimistic. "No matter how big the storm is, it is better to walk around."
Before enlightenment, it was "I am alive", and after enlightenment, it was "I watched me live"; Before enlightenment, the authorities were fascinated, and after enlightenment, the bystanders were clear; Before enlightenment, I worked hard for success. After enlightenment, I was "doing nothing and taking the world". Before enlightenment, we look at the part by phenomenon, and look at the phenomenon by phenomenon. After enlightenment, we look at the part by whole and look at the phenomenon by phenomenon. Before enlightenment, I lived in contradiction, after enlightenment, I existed in perfection.
An enlightened person is a real person who lives in perfection. Perfection is not without faults. Perfection is not "slapping your head" or taking it for granted. Perfection is the unity of advantages and disadvantages, right and wrong, good and evil, right and wrong.
An enlightened person will be confident because he has found the root of life. The so-called self-confidence is the ontological understanding of self-life.
