Peking University security guards learn English just to stop being looked down upon.

Red Star News: When you were a security guard at Peking University, why did you want to learn English?

Zhang Juncheng: While working as a security guard in Ximen, Peking University, one day I met seven foreigners who wanted to visit Peking University. At that time, according to the regulations of Peking University, these people did not meet the conditions for entering Peking University, so I refused them. At first, these people walked across the street and gave me a thumbs up. I thought at that time, not bad, foreigners are still polite. However, after a while, they put down their thumbs. At that time, I felt that these foreigners looked down on me and laughed at my ignorance of English. So I made up my mind and decided to learn English so that I wouldn't be looked down upon.

Red Star News: So you didn't learn English in the college entrance examination?

Zhang Juncheng: Mainly to cope with foreign guests' work in the west gate of Peking University, not for the college entrance examination. The requirements of the Department of Foreign Languages of Peking University are relatively high. I just graduated from junior high school and have a weak foundation. I must have failed the exam at that time.

Red Star News: Why did you choose to study law later?

Zhang Juncheng: I chose law major because my science is not very good. At that time, my major was administration besides law. Due to the lack of knowledge, I think the major of administration is relatively narrow, so I chose the major of law.

I am interested in law, which belongs to the superstructure. Besides, I'm interested in lawyers, public security law and so on. After studying the law, my thinking is more agile, my judgment of things is more accurate, and the standard of right and wrong is clearer. However, the law major is very difficult to read. It takes years to be like Hou Liangping in the TV series in the name of people.

Red Star News: Is there anything in the law department of Peking University that impressed you particularly?

Zhang Juncheng: Studying in Peking University is very special. Unlike other students, I study full time. I work and study. I didn't go to class until I had done a good job in safety. Sometimes after class, I have to come back to stand guard. I have been exposed to too many teachers and interesting courses, and the most impressive one is Professor Cao Yan of the English Department. The teacher gave me a lot of help, encouraging me to learn English and take the adult college entrance examination.

Red Star News: Why didn't you continue to work as a lawyer?

Zhang Juncheng: After graduating from Peking University, I worked as a security guard in Peking University for one year. One year later, on July 2nd, 1999, I went to a school in Changzhi to do administrative work instead of teaching.

Schools are set up to help more children.

Red Star News: Can you adapt from security guard to teacher?

Zhang Juncheng: I feel that there is not much difference between being a safety management student in Peking University and managing students in Changzhi School. After participating in school management for a period of time, I found that the effect of my substitute class was also good. I often explained political and legal issues to students and found myself handy in this respect. Red Star News: Still talking about philosophy?

Zhang Juncheng: I am very interested in philosophy and have a good philosophical foundation, especially Marxist philosophy. Professor Zhang Yushu from the Department of Western Languages in Peking University has given me a lot of help in this respect. As long as he didn't go to work, he asked me to go around Peking University and told me a lot about Chinese and Western philosophy.

Red Star News: What happened to this school?

Zhang Juncheng: I have been a teacher in Changzhi for 17 years. From an ordinary teacher, manager, student section chief and director of the Political and Educational Affairs Office to 20 15, this technical secondary school was approved as the principal.

Before 20 15, the houses here helped the children of the victims of the Wenchuan earthquake and the Yushu earthquake from 2008 to 20 13. In my contact with these children, I have a desire to start a school. I want to help more children in society, so that they can learn a skill and stand on the society. After that, together with several investors, with the support of the local government and all walks of life, I invested nearly 10 million yuan to build this school.

Militarized management school originated from the security experience of Peking University.

Red Star News: There is a slogan next to the basketball court in your school: "Build a first-class paramilitary management school". Why militarization? Does this have anything to do with your experience as a security guard at Peking University?

Zhang Juncheng: The root of militarized management comes from my experience as a security guard in Peking University. This kind of management standardized my laziness at that time and made me develop good behavior habits, such as sitting and standing, being reasonable, beneficial and restrained. Militarized management is also a kind of national defense education and patriotism education. This needs to penetrate into every bit of life. As sons and daughters of China, we need to have patriotic feelings.

Red Star News: Are there aviation, auto repair and law courses in your school's enrollment brochure?

Zhang Juncheng: The law is still somewhat abstract. It only explains the cases in the book. From the practice of students, unlike automobile maintenance and other majors, students can feel it with their hands. Schools do not train people who sit in offices, but train high-quality workers. Whether "Made in China" or "Created in China", they all need skilled and high-quality talents.

Now is the era of "internet plus", and it's no good repeating the same old tune. No matter what you do or run a school, you must conform to the trend of the times under the guidance of the market, otherwise it is useless to society to cultivate people who are full of knowledge but can't solve problems.

Zhang Juncheng: One person can influence 250 people around him. This is my experience in educating students to learn communication etiquette. Why is this number "250" instead of 1000 or something else? This is the result of observation and calculation.

This idea is mainly to teach everyone to be kind to others. For example, there are parents, husbands, wives, children, brothers, friends and others behind a person. If you don't interact with others in a friendly and harmonious way, you may create 250 opposites. Red Star News: What are your plans for the future?

Zhang Juncheng: Within ten years, make the school the first private university in Changzhi. This is the long-term planning of the school, just like individuals, they also need life planning. The future direction is to learn from all good schools, instead of copying one school and putting forward a specific slogan and goal. First, based on Changzhi, one step at a time, and then extended to the whole country.

Red Star News: Some people say that you successfully counterattacked from Peking University Security. Do you feel anything?

Zhang Juncheng: A person's social status is not determined by others. It doesn't mean that you are high when others evaluate you, and you are low when others evaluate you. It is after you strive to reach a position that society will begin to recognize you.
