Guandi's three birthdays are June 22nd, May13rd and July 22nd.

Regarding the year of Ye's birth and death, the local chronicles and the inscriptions in Guandi Temple have different opinions. As for my birthday, some said it was June 22nd in the lunar calendar, most said it was May13rd in the lunar calendar, and some places designated July 22nd as the birthday of Guan Di.

From the Song Dynasty, many emperors chased Guan Yu, and in the Song Dynasty, Guan Yu was chased as various "kings". In the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the great ancestor of Ming Dynasty, also worshipped Guan Yu's deeds. He named Guan Yu "the God of the Three Realms, Weiyuan Town", and Guan Yu became the real "Guan Di Ye". Zhu Yuanzhang also established Guandi Temple for Guan Yu.

Actually, The History of the Three Kingdoms does not record the date of Guan Yu's birth, so Guan Yu's birth has been controversial in later generations. However, in the "Inscription on the Tombstone of Mu Houzu, a former general in Guanzhuang, Guandi Temple, Changping Village, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, it is recorded that Guan Yu was born on June 24th in the third year (160).

Every year on June 24th of the lunar calendar, people will collect hundreds of meters, eat hundreds of meals, participate in releasing animals and burning incense, pray for Guandi and celebrate his birthday. On Guandi's birthday, people will commemorate this day like wishing a grand festival to express their reverence for Guandi and pray for peace and wealth.
