Introduction to the Universiade:

The World University Games (English: FISU World University Games, referred to as: World Universiade or Universiade) is hosted by the International University Sports Federation, including "Summer Games" and "Winter Games". "Sports Games" is held every two years and is only open to college students and college students (age 17-28 years old) who have graduated no more than 2 years ago.

The Universiade was first held in 1959. Its predecessor was the International University Games. It has been held for 30 times since 1959. All required competition events in the Universiade are all Olympic events, and competition management is implemented by international individual sports organizations in accordance with Olympic standards. It is the world's comprehensive sports event second only to the Olympic Games and is known as the "Little Olympics".

From July 28 to August 8, 2023, the 31st Summer Universiade will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan. The World University Games is a world comprehensive sports event hosted by the International University Sports Federation. The Universiade is divided into the "Summer Universiade" and the "Winter Universiade".

In the early 1920s, the then International University Student Organization began planning to host the World University Games. In May 1923, the World University Sports Congress was held in Paris, and the meeting decided to hold the first International University Games the following year.

In 1924, the first International Universities' Games were held in Warsaw, with three events: track and field, swimming and fencing. Since then, the sports games have been held irregularly, and by 1939, eight games had been held. The games were later suspended due to World War II and resumed in 1947.

However, due to changes in the international situation in 1951, it was split into two sports games, the East and the West. The Western one was called the "International Student Sports Games", and the Eastern one was called the "Youth Student Games" or "Youth Friendship Games" . Each camp organizes and hosts its own university games.
