"erudition" is selected from "erudition and determination, good at asking questions and thinking near" (from the Analects of Confucius), which means to learn from a wide range; "Benedict", firm. "Du Zhi" (from Xunzi's "Cultivation") means to be firm-willed, to set up lofty ideals, to set clear aspirations and to practice hard.

The combination of "erudition and determination" means that modern science and technology are changing with each passing day, and there are more and more types of knowledge. In order to reach the peak of career, everyone must study extensively. Set high aspirations, and life will have goals and pursuits.
