On the sparsely populated salt-alkali flats, there used to be several famous state-owned farms, such as Guangbei Farm, Yellow River Farm, Bohai Farm, Qingtuo Farm, etc. Some of these farms were built by the state to reclaim wasteland. After the Corps period, such as Guangbei Farm, Huanghe Farm, etc., some were built to allow prisoners to undergo labor reform, such as Bohai Farm, Qingtuo Farm, etc. During the Spring Festival holiday of 2021, I visited Bohai Farm, Yellow River Farm and other places, and took photos of some old buildings and old trees. The camera I used was Olympus OM4ti, lens OM50/1.4, and expired Lucky Aviation repackaging. I felt Black and white film is perfect for shooting these subjects.

Don't think that this is an ordinary small village, this is definitely a state farm unit. At that time, rural areas did not have the conditions to use tap water. Only state-owned farms had the ability to build water towers and provide tap water. Even though the current farms are all low and dilapidated small houses, which are very shabby compared with the tall and spacious houses in the surrounding countryside, you should not forget that the houses in the surrounding countryside were only renovated in recent years. It's an adobe house, and the brick and tile houses on the farm are very tall. At that time, farmers lived in adobe houses and ate grain steamed buns, but farm workers could live in brick houses, eat white flour steamed buns, marry young wives, and receive monthly wages. At that time, college students did not go to units such as the Agricultural Bureau and the Forestry Bureau, but scrambled for farm allocations. If they had gone to the Agricultural Bureau back then, they would at least be directors now. In the era when educated youths went to the countryside, if they could work in the farm, they could receive a monthly salary and send money to their families. But that was not the case for those who went to the countryside to join the team. The pitiful "work points" they earned every day were incomparable to those on the farm.

The water tower in the three-point field of Bohai Farm is made of blue bricks. For some reason, some of the blue bricks are corroded and weathered. I guess it may be related to salt-alkali erosion, but the cement joints inside the brick joints are still there. exist.

The abandoned prison at the third branch of the Bohai Farm was probably where the labor reform prisoners were originally held. Now the prison is in ruins. There is a family raising sheep inside. It used to be a pen for people, but now it is a pen. The sheep's.

From Bohai Farm, I went to Yellow River Farm. I also found a water tower in the north of the Yellow River Farm. There was a big willow tree near the water tower, which was very beautiful.

This big willow tree is located in a piece of farmland. For some reason, the farmland is very low-lying. It may be because of the rice grown in the field. The big tree grows on a large mound. It should be that the terrain was originally low. It is that high, or the big tree originally grew on an earthen dam. Later, the farmland was reorganized and this tree was left alone. I sincerely hope to protect this big tree...
