China UnionPay covers 142 countries and regions around the world.

It was established in March, 2002, and belongs to China Bank Card Association.

The company adopts advanced information technology and modern corporate management mechanism, establishes and operates a wide and efficient inter-bank information exchange network system for bank cards, formulates unified business norms and technical standards, and realizes efficient inter-bank general and joint business development.

UnionPay card refers to a bank card that meets the requirements of unified business norms and technical standards and is printed with the words "UnionPay" at the designated location. Card numbers begin with "62".

According to the relevant person in charge of the central bank, bank cards with the "UnionPay" logo must conform to the unified business norms and technical standards stipulated by the central bank and be approved.

Since June 5438+ 10/0, 2002, five state-owned banks, China Merchants Bank, Huaxia Bank, Shenzhen Development Bank, Guangfa Bank and other joint-stock commercial banks and postal savings departments have taken the lead in launching bank cards with UnionPay logo in five cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, and are gradually realizing bank cards with UnionPay logo within and between five cities.

Other commercial banks are also stepping up the transformation of their own computer processing systems, ATMs and point-of-sale terminals, and will launch bank cards with the "UnionPay" logo in the above cities.
