Daxie Island, Daxie Development Zone, Ningbo

Ningbo Daxie Development Zone was established in March, 1993. It is developed by China CITIC Group Corporation and enjoys the policy of national economic and technological development zone. The development zone is located in the east of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, 40 kilometers away from the center of Ningbo. The development zone includes Daxie Island and thirteen surrounding islands, with a planned area of about 36 square kilometers, of which Daxie Island covers an area of 30.84 square kilometers.

The coastline of the development zone is 26 kilometers, of which the deepwater coastline 10.7 kilometers, and the 20-30 m isobath near the shore is less than 100 meters. Port construction conditions are unique, and it has superior resource endowment for developing port-facing industries and port transportation. The development zone plans to build 49 berths of various types, with a designed throughput of 65,438+300 million tons. 25 berths of various types were built, and the port cargo throughput reached 33.36 million tons in 2006.

After more than ten years of development and construction, multinational companies such as British BP, Hong Kong China Merchants, Japanese Mitsubishi Chemical, Itochu and Mitsubishi Corporation, and well-known enterprises at home and abroad such as Sinopec, CNOOC, China Petroleum and yantai wanhua have invested and started businesses, forming three leading industries: energy transit, port petrochemical and port logistics.
