First, the location of fish ponds must be selected, generally close to rivers or lakes, so as to be close to water sources and reduce costs. It should be noted that the nearby water source must not be polluted, otherwise it is not feasible to raise fish. In addition, we should also consider whether the transportation is convenient and how the power supply is.

Second, the water quality of the water source is relatively large, and it is necessary to ensure the cleanliness of the water source. It is not realistic to use tap water, so we can only use river water or reservoir water. Injecting fresh water into fish ponds regularly can prevent the deterioration of water quality and avoid hypoxia, which is also conducive to the reproduction of plankton.

Third, the size of the pond is also very important. Usually fish can't be raised in only one pond, and fry and adult fish must be raised separately. The fry needs an area of 3-5 mu and a water depth of about 1- 1.5 m. It takes 8- 10 mu to raise fish, so that the fish have enough room to move and avoid squeezing each other.

Fourth, dealkalization and pond cleaning If it is a new cement pond, it is necessary to dealkalize fish first. Generally, white vinegar or glacial acetic acid is used for dealkalization, which is injected into the pond for three days, and then released and washed several times. In addition to dealkalization, attention should also be paid to cleaning the pond, and the whole pond can be disinfected by spraying quicklime or bleaching powder.
