Note: This music video contains a large number of controversial scenes involving sex and violence. was deleted. Brief review: The film premiered simultaneously in 27 countries around the world on November 14, 1991. It is estimated that a total of 500 million people watched it, setting a record for the highest ratings of a music video. Just hours after its premiere, the music video made headlines around the world. The music video's violence and suggestive scenes sparked a critical firestorm. Parents in particular were particularly dissatisfied with Michael's violence in the second half of breaking the glass and simulating masturbation. Michael's spokesperson later explained that Michael's dance part was just to depict and interpret the wild and animalistic nature of the black panther. Eventually Michael agreed to cut the last 4 minutes and issued a statement. But it wasn't just the final Black Panther part that caused a stir in the music video, but also the "face-changing" stunt that was used for the first time in a music video. The technology had only been used in two films before.

The film opens with Macaulay King, the protagonist of "Home Alone," blasting his father with a guitar so loud. After that we saw Michael dancing with the African natives, and then the scene changed to Thailand, western North America... Michael jumped halfway around the world in his unique way. The most interesting thing is the shot of him with a beautiful Indian dancer. The dancer's graceful dance fits perfectly with Michael's own dance. For one magical moment, you might even guess that there was a little bit of romance happening between the two of them. But he soon flew to Russia and danced with a group of Cossack men... and finally we saw the famous "face change" part. Then we were pulled back to reality - the filming location. A camera captures Michael wandering around alone, and we see him transform into a black panther and sneak out of the studio and into the neighborhood.

The first part of "Black or White" seems to show us an "innocent" side - generally a socially acceptable version of Michael. The second part will reveal a "dark" antisocial Michael. This part achieved the effect of setting off a thousand waves with one stone - causing huge controversy. The segment was later removed from radio airplay, but still appeared in later versions of the music video. Regardless of the outcome, Jackson likes to be thought of as more controversial than he has been in the past.

This passage encourages us to believe that we are about to see a pure Michael. He dances on the street at night...no supporting roles, no backup dancers, no harmony, not even background music! In fact, we still see a lot of stunts being used - exaggerated sound effects, camera tricks and smoke makers. The sense of reality is completely lost. What's worse is that Michael's dance steps are almost aimless and irregular. The last thing we got to experience was multiple crotch grabbing movements. Jackson is already famous for his live crotch grabs, but until now he hadn't done much of the trick on screen. He has often wiped his nose with his sleeve in many of his past music videos. This action is neither aesthetic nor erotic. The Greeks called this type of behavior "stage sabotage"—meaning to remind the audience that whatever they were watching was unrealistic. Through his taboo-loving behavior, the man reminds us that we are seeing a real person, not a character in a drama.

Of course taboo behavior has become one of the most important parts of rock music history. From Elvis's shaking pelvis, to the Rolling Stones' bad boy image, to Jim Morrison's southern exposure...Jackson's main rivals in the 1980s, Madonna and Prince, were much more open in this regard than he was. Through this act, Michael wants to tell his parents that they have no right to interfere with him anymore. He not only wants to bring excitement to the audience but also tells the audience that he doesn't give a damn about any of this.

If you don’t like the crotch grabbing scene, that’s okay, there’s other great stuff in part two. Michael smashes up a car with racial slogans painted on it, pulls out the steering wheel and smashes it into a glass window that says "Long Live the Ku Klux Klan," lifts a trash can and throws it through a store window before running away. He settled on the sewer cover that was spraying smoke and began to rub his body frantically. Finally, he tore his shirt to pieces, exposing his chest, which was as thin as ribs. He spun quickly, fell to his knees in a small mud puddle filled with water, and splashed a lot of water against the electric wire fireworks flying above his head.
