Concept and scope of air space

Concept: Airspace refers to the airspace above the territory and territorial sea of a sovereign country and is an integral part of the national territory. The Paris Convention on Aviation and the Convention on International Civil Aviation stipulate that a country enjoys absolute sovereignty over its airspace.

Scope: According to international law, airspace can be divided into national airspace and international airspace. Among them, national airspace refers to the airspace on a country's land, internal waters, archipelagic waters and territorial waters; International airspace refers to the airspace in adjacent areas, exclusive economic zones, high seas and land that does not belong to the sovereign jurisdiction of any country. A country can exercise sole and complete sovereignty over its airspace. In international navigation rules, an aircraft wishing to enter the airspace of a sovereign country must indicate its nationality and intention in order to obtain permission to fly or land in transit, and must abide by relevant flight regulations, otherwise it may be regarded as "invasion".

An important document related to airspace security is the Convention on International Civil Aviation signed by 1944. According to the provisions of international law and the Convention on International Civil Aviation, a country's military aircraft can only fly on the high seas and cannot fly over the airspace of another country without special authorization or prior permission.
