Problem description:

Who can tell me how the transparent amber layer on the outside of those insect amber specimens sold in the market is made, what is the difference between them and amber specimens made of ordinary rosin, and why the former is so transparent?

Analysis:

Wrap insect specimens with transparent materials such as cheap polypropylene resin.

Natural amber has color and texture and is a fossil.

Specimens made of rosin also have colors, but they are not as clear or unnatural as natural amber gems.
