What are rhetorical devices and examples of rhetorical questions?

Chen Wangdao pointed out in The Origin of Rhetoric: "Those who have preconceived ideas and deliberately use words to ask questions are called rhetorical questions. This kind of questioning must have an answer on its opposite side. " The rhetorical question defined by Mr. Chen Wangdao should be said to be a kind of rhetorical question in a broad sense, including rhetorical questions. Nowadays rhetorical questions and rhetorical questions are generally divided into two figures of speech.

There is no doubt about asking questions. There are two ways to ask questions:

(1) Ask questions. Ask questions in the form of questions and give corresponding answers in order to attract attention and make people think.

Example 1 "What is eternal life" seems to be in doubt, but the answer immediately after it shows that it is pretending to be in doubt and actually has an answer.

(2) rhetorical questions. Ask questions in the form of rhetorical questions and give corresponding answers. In addition to attracting attention, it also has the function of strengthening emotions.

Example 2 "Never seen such a thorny road" is a rhetorical question, which has hinted at an answer, and then gave a positive answer with a "no". So from the form of question and answer, it should be a question.

According to the way of answering, rhetorical questions can be divided into two types:

(1) Answer directly. Answer the questions directly, for example 1, example 2.

(2) An elegant answer. Don't tell the answer directly, but hint at the answer in a tactful and implicit way.
