The flight was delayed until 3:45 in the morning, allowing me to experience an airport overnight for the first time. I arrived at Yangzhou Taizhou Airport at about 5:30 in the morning.

It’s half past five in Yangzhou, the air is fresh, and the sunrise on the horizon is particularly eye-catching in the light blue sky. My third cousin arranged for a friend to pick us up and waited for us in the airport parking lot all night. Such friends are really rare.

It’s about an hour’s drive from the airport to my third cousin’s home. The road along the way is long and clean, with vast fields and low houses on both sides. Occasionally, a myna flew in front of the car. The exhaustion of a sleepless night made me feel much better after seeing such a scenery.

After entering the city, I found that Yangzhou was green. The greening was done very well and the slogans were written very seriously. The sign on the lawn: "Red light, green grass, please go around."

After getting ready, Brother Sanbiao took us to the hotel to have Yangzhou morning tea: three-dimensional buns, crab roe buns, steamed dumplings, two bowls of blunt wontons, three bowls of spring noodles, and the must-order hot dry shredded silk for every table. There's nothing special about the taste, except that it's quite special. A bowl of spring noodles can be eaten by two people. The steamed dumplings and steamed buns are larger than what we usually eat, and the prices are very affordable.

In the hotel, guests enjoyed morning tea leisurely, chatting and laughing, eating various steamed buns in cages and swallowing pasta in bowls. Old people are not in a hurry to buy groceries, and young people are not in a hurry to go to work. I have always thought that Ludao is a city with a slow pace of life. When I arrived in Yangzhou City, I realized that there were even slower cities.

After dinner, Sister Sanbiao took us to visit a garden. This garden is known as one of the four famous gardens in China, but there are different opinions on the Internet. Let’s ignore its title for now. Just like when I visited the Shenyang Garden in Shaoxing in April, I felt that Jiangnan gardens only differ in size and reputation, not beauty or ugliness.

The Geyuan exit is connected to Yangzhou Dongguan Street, where you can buy a variety of gourmet specialties, handicrafts, Jiangnan clothing, and bags. Similar to the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street in Hangzhou, Cangqiao Street in Shaoxing, and Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou. What impressed me most was the old street in Shaoxing that smelled like stinky tofu.

Pavilions, small bridges and flowing water are full of greenery, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.
