The scientific research projects in the teaching and research section of general psychology and experimental psychology mainly involve sports psychology, touch, memory, emotion, children's development, intelligence test and psychological history. The scientific research projects of the Department of Physiology and Abnormal Psychology mainly include epilepsy, biochemical research on primate behavior, animal behavior, physiological indexes of emotions, the relationship and development between emotions and cognition, psychosomatic response characteristics of cardiovascular patients, Eysenck personality measurement and so on. In particular, the elderly Mr. Tang Yue and Mr. Zhou Xiangeng are also full of energy, concentrating on summing up their years of teaching and scientific research experience and writing related works.

Third, the hardware and equipment for teaching and scientific research have begun to take shape. The psychology reference room was set up shortly after the establishment of the department. By 1983, there were more than 10000 Chinese psychological books, more than 12000 foreign psychological books, nearly 100 Chinese periodicals and nearly 100 foreign periodicals. Four laboratories of physiological psychology, child psychology, medical psychology and experimental psychology have been established one after another. During this period, under the active planning of Jing Qicheng, the Department of Psychology of Peking University and the University of Michigan established an inter-departmental exchange and cooperation relationship. Wang Su and others went to the United States for exchange visits, cooperated with American psychologists to carry out scientific research activities, absorbed foreign advanced scientific and technological achievements, and sent many overseas students abroad.
