Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Vocational College was established in 20021with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the consent of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. It was organized by Zhejiang Drug Administration, and it was the first pharmaceutical vocational school in China and the first public higher vocational college in the province.

The history of the school can be traced back to 1965, 1986, Zhejiang Medical College approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, 1999, Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College approved by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and Zhejiang Medical College approved by Ministry of Education in 2002.

The school is located in Ningbo, the hometown of Tu Youyou, the first natural science Nobel Prize winner in China. It has two campuses, Fenghua and Yinzhou, covering an area of 933 mu and a total construction area of 307,900 square meters. The school has 14 secondary colleges, including Pharmacy College, Chinese Medicine College, Pharmaceutical Business School and Nursing College.

There are 75 teachers in the school who have obtained the qualifications of GMP, GSP and medical device standard inspectors in provinces and cities, and 42 of them have been selected into the "Double Hundred Talents" project of professional inspection in Zhejiang Province. It has excellent teachers such as experts from the State Council's government special allowance, "15 1 talent" in Zhejiang Province, top-notch talents in Ningbo, and Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award.

Focusing on the development of pharmaceutical industry and food and drug supervision, the school firmly defines the type of vocational undergraduate education, adheres to the characteristics of pharmaceutical industry, adheres to the road of integration of production and education, and adheres to the school motto of "respecting morality, knowing medicine rationally, strengthening pharmaceutical skills, knowing things perfectly and connecting with the international community", and strives to build a first-class vocational undergraduate college with distinctive medical characteristics.

The school focuses on the implementation of vocational undergraduate education, retains some specialized education and plans to carry out professional master's education.
