The construction of a new family building started in May 1997 and was completed in July 1998; more than 7,000 square meters of land were allocated through the coordination of the county government to connect Weisan Road in the city and build a South Street flower bed. . In June 1997, the foundation stone of the student dormitory building was laid, and it was accepted for use in January 1998. In order to green and beautify the campus and create a beautiful educational environment, a large garden of 2,400 square meters in front of the student dormitory was built in April, and Chinese Sophora japonica and Sophora japonica were planted. More than 200 kinds of flowers and trees were planted, including roses, spruce, arborvitae, cedar, locust, lilac, elm, etc., and the original football field was turned into a green football field; publicity boards, newspaper reading boards, Placards etc. In late September, the new school gate was completed and the second phase of the construction project was completed. In October, it was named a landscaping unit and a greening standard unit by the Lanzhou Municipal Greening Committee and the Landscape Bureau. Today, Yongdeng No. 1 Middle School has become an educational garden with beautiful environment and elegant scenery, and a scenic spot in Yongdeng County. In 1998, the Lanzhou Municipal Government designated the school as a “542 Project” project. In September of the same year, the school was named a "Civilized Unit" by the County Spiritual Civilization Office.
