1948 On April 30th, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued a slogan to commemorate May 1st Labor Day, calling on "all democratic parties, people's organizations and social elites to hold a political consultation meeting quickly to discuss and realize the convening of a people's congress and the establishment of a democratic coalition government", which was warmly responded by all democratic parties and personages without party affiliation.

Jia Qinglin said in his speech that the enthusiastic response of the democratic parties and personages without party affiliation to the "May 1st slogan" marked that the democratic parties and personages without party affiliation consciously chose the leadership of the Chinese Production Party, embarked on the road of new democracy and socialism, and opened a new chapter in the development history of multi-party cooperation in China. Over the past 60 years, multi-party cooperation in China has flourished and made important contributions to the cause of socialist revolution, construction and reform.

Jia Qinglin pointed out that practice has fully proved that the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system led by China's * * * production party is a basic political system in China, which has great advantages and must be unswervingly adhered to; It is a great creation in line with China's national conditions, with strong vitality and must be unswervingly developed; It is an important form of realizing socialist democracy and has a unique role, so it must be unswervingly promoted. Over the past 60 years, China's productive party, democratic parties and personages without party affiliation have accumulated rich experience in the practice of unity and cooperation, which has provided important enlightenment for continuing to promote the development of multi-party cooperation. That is, we must adhere to the party's leadership, great unity and unity, socialist democracy, equal consultation and democratic supervision.

Jia Qinglin emphasized that at present, China is in a critical period of reform and development, and the cause of multi-party cooperation is facing new situations and tasks. We should take the opportunity of commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's "May Day Slogan", inherit and carry forward the fine traditions and valuable experience formed by the democratic parties and personages without party affiliation in their unity and cooperation with China's "May Day Slogan", further promote the vigorous development of multi-party cooperation, consolidate and expand the broadest patriotic United front, and jointly push forward the cause of Socialism with Chinese characteristics.
