Slogan of World Rabies Day

The slogan of World Rabies Day is: * * Let rabies become history together.

At the initiative of the Rabies Control Alliance (ARC), the World Health Organization, the World Organization for Animal Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention jointly initiated and made a decision, and officially established September 28th as World Rabies Day.

Through the establishment of World Rabies Day, many collaborators and volunteers gathered to make rabies a thing of the past as soon as possible.

September 28th is also the anniversary of Louis Pasteur's death. The French chemist and microbiologist developed the first rabies vaccine for human use in the 9th century. In 2007, the World Health Organization, the World Organization for Animal Health and other institutions chose this day to launch World Rabies Day, hoping to make this infectious disease that has been raging for at least 2,500 years a thing of the past as soon as possible.
