Afforestation in Sitou Town

The Party Committee and Government of Sitou Town, Linqu County have strengthened measures to pay close attention to afforestation in rainy season and achieved remarkable results. The town has completed the afforestation area of 6,800 mu in rainy season, planted seedlings such as Platycladus orientalis/kloc-0.5 million, and invested a total of 2 1.0 million yuan. In the work, the "five unifications" were implemented.

Unified planning. In the spring of 2008, we organized special forces to make unified planning for five rainy season afforestation bases, namely Dadongyu, Huanglong Mountain, Baopantai, Jinji Mountain and Daogouling, renovated the mountain road around the city, erected a framework, and some dug tree holes in advance.

Unified seedling supply. All the seedlings needed for afforestation in rainy season are purchased and provided by the government. All the seedlings are big and strong, and the highest quality seedlings reach 2 yuan per plant. Platycladus orientalis seedlings are all raised in nutrient bags.

Unified standards. The Technical Specification for Afforestation in Rainy Season was issued, which required the hole size to be 0.7× 0.6m, the depth to be 0.3m, and the planting density to be 2× 1.5m, so as to achieve "three buries, two treads and one seedling". After the rain, we should help the seedlings to cultivate the soil in time to ensure the survival rate above 95%.

Unified planting. Seedling planting adopts the way of project contracting, and the acceptance is carried out in the form of professional team according to the planting contract. The cost of planting seedlings is about per plant 1 yuan.

Unified management and protection. A propaganda vehicle was installed in the town, and the roving propaganda of closing hillsides and forbidding grazing was done well, and fixed slogans and signs of forbidding grazing were set up. Each afforestation base has 1 manager, and the remuneration is paid by the town finance.
