Reflections on "Building the Party"

Before reading this book, my understanding of China's * * * production party basically came from history textbooks and film and television dramas. And the knowledge about party building is very superficial. Thanks to many books I have read, I know some important events of the China Communist Party, but I know little about the details of these events.

Just like Mr. Chen Duxiu, one of the founders of China * * * Production Party, before I saw The Awakening Age, I used to think that Chen Duxiu was a stumbling block to the party's progress. But after reading The Age of Awakening, I learned about the sacrifices made by Mr. Chen Duxiu's family for the cause of the Party. Looking back, I feel how ignorant I am. This also prompted me to really understand what kind of person Chen Duxiu is, and under what circumstances he and Mr. Li Dazhao provided the ideological basis for the establishment of the China * * * production party?

With this question, I opened the book "Building the Party", and through reading, I got a better understanding of the social background at that time. The most obvious thing is that for the first time, I really have a more comprehensive understanding of the background of the establishment of the China * * * production party. When I was studying before, I learned about the New Culture Movement, the May 4th Patriotic Movement and the beginning of the new-democratic revolution. However, the background of the New Culture Movement is little known.

But after reading the book "Building the Party", I knew what kind of background promoted the establishment of the China * * * production party. In such a turbulent era, countless people with lofty ideals collapsed in the pursuit of China's progress, and the Beiyang government faced by the people was torn apart by Yuan Shikai's perverse actions. Warlords scuffled and imperialist oppression continued year after year. The people of China were not only exploited and oppressed by their own feudal forces, but also plundered and enslaved by foreign invaders, and their lives were in dire straits. However, it is against this background that countless people with lofty ideals are still rushing for the way out of China. And this is still far-reaching with the New Youth founded by Chen Duxiu and others. Because in this chaotic era, such a magazine that advocates new ideas, new cultures, stimulates new consciousness and cultivates new youth, although it did not have much response at that time, it pointed out a way for countless young students and provided ideological direction for countless people with lofty ideals.

Similarly, Mr Cai Yuanpei, who was then the president of Peking University, condensed these guiding lights. It is Cai Yuanpei's eight-character policy of "inclusiveness and freedom of thought" that provides a suitable soil for the development of various ideas in Peking University and also provides various conveniences for the development of new ideas. It is precisely because of the brand-new Peking University that an oasis has emerged in the knowledge desert of Beijing. It is precisely because of the maturity of these ideological conditions and the change of human spiritual factors that the form of May 4th talents occurred and entered history.

It can be said that it is precisely because of the support and maintenance of Mr. Cai Yuanpei that heroes from all walks of life gather together, and Peking University is a place where various ideas collide. It was also under the collision of these thoughts that it provided a reliable ideological foundation for the new-democratic revolution, laid the ideological foundation for the later establishment of the China * * * production party, and let countless people with lofty ideals follow this single spark, laying the foundation for starting a prairie fire.
