"Hehe Erxian" is the folk god of love in our country. The two of them hold lotus flowers in one hand and a round box in the other, symbolizing "harmony (lotus) and harmony (box) good" and implying "harmony and harmony". The "Two Immortals of Harmony" are the gods of harmony and reunion in Chinese folk mythology. Legend has it that they are monks Han Shan and Shi De in the Tang Dynasty. The two have a close friendship and are in harmony. According to legend, in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, Zen Master Fengqian of Guoqing Temple in Tiantai Mountain went out to beg for alms and picked up an abandoned baby boy on the roadside. The Zen master could not bear to die on the road, so he took him back to Guoqing Temple to raise him. When the child reached the age of six or seven, he was assigned to work in the temple kitchen as a handyman. Because the monks in the temple didn't know his parents' surname, they called him "Shide" based on his origin. Outside Guoqing Temple, there was a beggar who was about the same age as the found one. His origin was unclear. I only know that when he was very young, he often came to the temple to "swear at the mountain gate". The monks tried to scare him, but he laughed and was not afraid. Later, the monks discovered that the beggar lived in the cave of Hanyan, so they called him "Hanshan". After Han Shan and Shi De got acquainted, they became like old friends and felt like brothers. Shide often put his share of vegetarian food in a round food box and brought it to Hanshan's cave to share it with him. Monk Fenggan of Guoqing Temple saw that they were so good friends, so he asked Han Shan to enter the temple and work as the cook monk of Guoqing Temple together with Shi De. From then on, they got along day and night and became closer. Unexpectedly, when they grew up, they fell in love with a girl at the same time, and troubles arose. Therefore, Hanshan decided to cut off his love and go to Suzhou to live alone in a cottage near Fengqiao. After Shide learned the truth, he was so grateful that he picked up the food box and walked down Tiantai Mountain, asking for alms and asking for news about Hanshan. When Han Shan heard the news that Li De was looking for him, he hurriedly picked up a blooming lotus and greeted him five miles away. After seeing each other again, the two of them were overjoyed. Han Shan dusted the pick up with lotus leaves, picked up the food box, and enjoyed the freshly collected food with him, chatting and laughing, and soon returned to a carefree state. After this small love catastrophe, these two talented and intelligent young men were completely freed from their earthly fate. From then on, they joined together to raise money and vowed to build a temple. This became the world-famous "Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City". The back of the Buddha statue in Hanshan Temple is different from other temples. It enshrines stone carvings of Hanshan and found in the Tang Dynasty. In the picture, Hanshan's right hand is pointing to the ground, chatting and laughing; he is listening happily with his chest and abdomen exposed. Both of them had their hair disheveled and looked very naive. Han Shan and Shi De were regarded as the gods of joy by the people because they were always smiling and happy to solve everyone's troubles. The images of the two of them when they were young were painted into auspicious pictures and hung in the wedding hall. To express blessing. Hanshan is holding a lotus in his hand, which is the word "harmony"; the found one is holding a food box, which is the word "he", implying the harmony between husband and wife. During the Qing Dynasty, this folk belief was officially recognized. In the eleventh year of Yongzheng (1733), Emperor Shizong of the Qing Dynasty issued an edict to confer Hanshan as the Harmony Sage and Shide as the Hesheng. Therefore, the "Two Immortals of Harmony" are also called the "Two Saints of Harmony".
