Provisions on the Security and Confidentiality Management of Surveying and Mapping Information

Legal analysis: The security management system of surveying and mapping information should be formulated according to the State Secrecy Law, and the storage unit of surveying and mapping results should take measures to ensure the integrity and safety of surveying and mapping results, and make them public and available to the public in accordance with relevant state regulations. If the surveying and mapping results are state secrets, the provisions of confidentiality laws and administrative regulations shall apply; Need to provide external, in accordance with the provisions of the State Council and the Central Military Commission for examination and approval procedures. The confidentiality scope and classification of surveying and mapping results shall be determined, adjusted and published in a timely manner in accordance with the provisions of confidentiality laws and administrative regulations and the principles of safeguarding state secrets and promoting the enjoyment and application of geographic information.

Legal basis: Article 27 of the Surveying and Mapping Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the State implements a surveying and mapping qualification management system for units engaged in surveying and mapping activities.

Units engaged in surveying and mapping activities shall meet the following conditions, and may engage in surveying and mapping activities only after obtaining the corresponding level of surveying and mapping qualification certificate according to law:

(1) Having the qualification of a legal person;

(2) Having professional and technical personnel suitable for surveying and mapping activities;

(3) Having technical equipment and facilities suitable for surveying and mapping activities;

(four) a sound technical and quality assurance system, safety measures, information confidentiality management system and surveying and mapping results and data file management system.
