The Red Palace was originally a school palace in the Ming Dynasty. It was built by Zheng Yuan, the magistrate of Haifeng County in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1329). The existing buildings include Lingxing Gate, Panchi Arch Bridge, the front hall Dacheng Hall (also known as the "Confucian Temple") and the two side halls.
