According to the reporter’s understanding, about There are at least three versions of Sun Wukong's "origin": "Indian", "Shanxi native" and "Gansu native". Faced with the dispute over the hometown of Sun Wukong, relevant experts said that it is inappropriate to find a specific place to be the hometown of Sun Wukong. He is a product of Chinese culture, and the land of China is his hometown.

On the coast of the East China Sea, there is a high mountain called Baoshan in Shunchang, Fujian. There are rugged rocks and strange rocks on the mountain, surrounded by thousands of acres of bamboo forest at the foot of the mountain. There are all kinds of wild fruits such as kiwi, mountain peach, persimmon and so on. From time to time, you can see a few mountain monkeys jumping over. Two tombstones were erected on the top of the mountain. One of them read: "The Great Sage Qitian" and the other read: "The Great Sage Tongtian". According to research, these two tombstones have been erected for nearly a thousand years.

Recently, Wang Yimin, director of the Cultural Affairs Office of Shunchang County, Fujian Province, declared: "The tomb we discovered archaeologically on the top of Baoshan Mountain is the tomb of Sun Wukong and his brothers. This is a good proof that the prototype of Sun Wukong is We are from Shunchang County, Fujian!" For this reason, Wang Yimin specially led reporters to Baoshan to inspect Sun Wukong's "hometown".

The strange rocks in the mountain form a "Legend of Wukong"

Baoshan was the highest mountain in Shunchang County in ancient times, about 36 kilometers away from Shunchang County, with an altitude of 1,304 meters. Before climbing the mountain, it started to rain heavily in Shunchang. By the time the reporter and his team arrived at the foot of Baoshan Mountain, the raindrops in the sky had turned into snowflakes at some point. Looking up at the top of the mountain, I saw snow and fog shrouded in fog, and I couldn't tell which was the top of the mountain and which was the sky.

Wang Yimin led reporters into the mountain trails in the dense forest. The mountain path is steep and rugged, and it is covered with snow. If you are not careful, you may fall down. Wang Yimin searched for strange rocks in the mountains while climbing, and told reporters the legends of these strange rocks one by one.

A huge stone appeared in front of it. The stone was about a foot wide and had vertical and horizontal cracks on its surface, resembling a Bagua diagram. It was named "Immortal Pattern Stone". According to local folklore, Sun Wukong was born from this stone. There is an "Eight Immortals Cave" at the bottom of the cliff on the lower left side of the "Immortal Stone", which is a row of eight caves of different depths. The entrance of the cave is dripping water all year round, as if hanging a water curtain. Some local people who have climbed into the cave said that there are stone tables, stone benches, stone beds and other objects in the cave, and there are holes in the cave, which are criss-crossed. Its shape is very similar to the "Water Curtain Cave" described in "Journey to the West".

There are two open spaces among the pine forests in Baoshan, one is called the "training ground" and the other is called the "Pointing General Terrace". According to local legend, this is the place where Sun Wukong, after proclaiming himself king in Shuiliandong, trained his troops, picked fresh peach blossoms and fruits, and waited for the "children" to present delicious food. Later, Sun Wukong's actions angered God, so the heavenly soldiers and generals came to arrest him, and Erlang Shen also came with the Howling Dog. There is a huge rock that looks like a prone wild dog on the edge of a mountain in Baoshan. According to local legend, it is the Howling Dog that is detecting the whereabouts of Sun Wukong. The heavenly soldiers and generals were unable to deal with Sun Wukong, and finally Tathagata Buddha came forward.

"Journey to the West" describes that after Sun Wukong was caught by Tathagata, he was pressed under the Five Elements Mountain, waiting for his master Tang Monk to come to rescue him. Near the top of Baoshan Mountain, there is a huge rock protruding from the side of the mountain. Although it is covered with snow, it still looks like a monkey's head with a sharp mouth and monkey cheeks, as if looking into the distance. A thick stone pillar supports the huge stone that resembles a monkey's brain, which the locals call the "Sacred Needle Pillar Monkey King".

On the top of Baoshan stands the "Monkey King"

According to Wang Yimin, although there are many local legends, they are not enough to explain the Monkey King in "Journey to the West" The prototype is in Shunchang, and the tombs of the Shuangsheng located on the top of Baoshan Mountain are important evidence that the prototype of the Monkey King came from Shunchang.

After more than four hours, Wang Yimin and reporters finally climbed to the top of Baoshan. At your feet, the canyon is steep and bottomless; in front of you, the clouds and mist are rolling, like a fairyland. There are two buildings here, Nantianmen and Shuangsheng Temple. The two buildings are back to back, one big and one small, one high and one low, parallel to the peak of Baoshan.

The main building of Nantianmen has long since collapsed, and the broken walls and ruins on the ground lie across the weeds. Wang Yimin pushed aside the weeds and revealed a stone pillar. On the stone pillar was engraved a chronological inscription: "Rebuilt on an auspicious day in the sixth month of the Wushen year in the 27th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty."

The Shuangsheng Temple is about 2 meters away from the Nantianmen. It is a stone hut, about 20 square meters. Before entering the stone house, the reporter saw a stone statue of Sun Wukong erected in the Shuangsheng Temple from the outside. His eyes were bright, and upon closer inspection, he discovered that they were two eyeballs made of glass. This Sun Wukong is holding a wooden stick in his hand. The soles of his feet and the stones on the base seem to have been broken, and someone used cement to bond them together. Wang Yimin explained: "This stone statue has no archaeological value. It may have been shaped by modern people."

The reporter walked into the stone house and saw two tombstones standing inside. The writing and patterns are still legible. The word "Baofeng" is engraved horizontally on the top of the tombstone on one side, the four characters "Monkey King" are engraved vertically in the middle, and the word "divine position" is engraved horizontally below it. The top and surrounding sides of the tombstone are engraved with patterns such as Fa Luo and Ruyi. . The tombstone on the other side is only engraved with the words "Great Sage Tongtian" and "Divine Position", and it also has a pattern, but it is a bit crude compared to the tombstone of Monkey King.
