Alcohol-based fuel that does not save money and hurts the car.

There is no new energy concept in fuel, and alcohol-based gasoline or "alcohol fuel" failed many years ago. Automobile "new energy transformation" is still in its infancy, and most C-end users have no accurate concept of new energy. As a result, some so-called "clean fuels" appeared in the automotive aftermarket under the guise of "new energy". However, all fuels that convert kinetic energy through combustion are conventional energy sources. Because no matter coal, oil, natural gas, these energy sources are non-renewable, and they will also produce emissions when burning; As a "by-product" of industry, alcohol fuel is essentially the same.

New energy concept: refers to renewable unlimited energy, such as light, wind, water, geothermal energy, ocean energy, etc. The "electric energy" converted by these methods can be called a new type of energy. At the current level of technology, human beings can only use these methods and finally get electricity. Electricity obtained by consuming conventional energy sources is not "clean electricity" in the strict sense, such as thermal power and hydrogen fuel chemical power generation. So what is alcohol-based fuel?

Ethanol gasoline and clean gasoline

Adding 10% fuel ethanol to unleaded gasoline can reduce emissions. The products of anhydrous fuel ethanol after full combustion are: carbon dioxide and water. Compared with more than 100 emissions of unleaded gasoline, burning ethanol can really achieve the ideal emission reduction effect. However, the calorific value of ethanol is only 60.9% (26,796 kJ/kg) of gasoline. If ethanol is completely replaced, the fuel consumption of vehicles will increase greatly. Then the large-scale popularization of ethanol will inevitably lead to a sharp rise in the "alcohol price", and for car users, the use cost of cars will increase, so it is not advisable to use pure ethanol as fuel. The national standard ethanol gasoline only adds 10%.

Key points: another reason why ethanol can't replace fuel is that ethanol has "swelling property" on rubber products; High-purity ethanol will corrode the oil circuit of the engine and even the fuel tank made of engineering plastics; Secondly, insufficient combustion of ethanol will produce acetic acid, which will affect metal materials and engine oil, so ethanol can only be controlled within the range of 10%~20% (there are E 15/20 ethanol gasoline in Europe and America). Even if corrosion inhibitors are added, problems will occur if the content is too high.

There is no lower limit for alcohol-based fuels.

The so-called "alcohol-based fuel" sold in the aftermarket is mainly composed of methanol, because its manufacturing cost is lower than that of ethanol. Methanol not only expands organic matter, but also corrodes copper, iron, aluminum and their alloys. Formic acid produced in the combustion process will also react chemically with engine oil, which means that methanol will damage the core assembly engine, oil system and even exhaust gas purification system of the automobile.

Most of the alcohol-based gasoline sold in the automobile aftermarket is "m100&; M85 ",its concept is 100% pure methanol and 85% methanol mixture 15% unleaded gasoline. Imagine how long these fuels can last without being used in the target car. Moreover, the calorific value of methanol is less than half that of unleaded gasoline, only 19464kj/kg. A sufficiently low heating value equals a sufficiently low torque. The reduction of engine torque needs to increase the speed to compensate the output power, so the use of methanol will increase the fuel consumption by several orders of magnitude and accelerate the wear of the engine. As for the hue of ethanol and fuel oil, the same problem exists. It is not recommended to use fuel oil exceeding the national standard.

Summary: Alcohol-based fuel or alcohol-based gasoline is mostly a "franchise" business model. To put it bluntly, they have been "shoulder to shoulder" with the fake model. For this so-called new energy, it is necessary to have the ability to distinguish. As a car user, it is not appropriate to try to use this fuel; As early as 2000, at the initial stage of the surge in car ownership, there were already many merchants who modified and sold alcohol-based fuel systems in the aftermarket, but they basically disappeared because of the continuous problems in the later stage.
