How to Implement 5S Management in Printing Industry

in view of these situations in the printing industry, 5S management can be implemented from the following aspects to improve and upgrade the on-site management.

1. Use IE (industrial engineering) to carry out on-site 5S activities in the form of special improvement from the aspects of regional layout, control of resources and raw materials, and improvement of environment.

Regional layout is mainly carried out from the following aspects: through reasonable regional layout, raw materials for production such as ink, ink spatula, fountain solution, rags, proofreading and adjusting tools, white materials, semi-finished products, finished products, paper tables, etc. Different production articles shall be placed in different areas according to regulations, and no paper or sundries shall be placed on the passage, forming a fixed-point management system. Eliminate the irregular phenomenon of littering paper wool, scraps of paper, waste paper and water, oil and ink on the ground or on the machine platform. Remove the waste paper on the ground and under the machine platform in time, and always keep the site clean and tidy. Thus, the production site has been obviously improved, and the effect of keeping things in place and orderly has been achieved.

The specific measures are as follows:

a. Paper, products or waste products in production and operation, as well as paper tables, bookbinding boards, bookpressing boards, etc. flowing with products, should be clearly marked and stored on the ground, and whoever is responsible for the area should not be placed across the border.

B. marking the ground, marking the production site and marking the ground with different colors. For example, the channel is yellow, the in-process processing area is green, the raw material area is blue, the defective product processing area is red and white, and the waste product area is red. The use of these colors should be unified throughout the factory, and the implementation rules should be formulated. Special attention should be paid to clearly marking the passages for visitors and those unrelated to production, and setting up warning signs such as "Please take the special passages for participants and those unrelated to production, and do not enter the processing zone without permission" to ensure that the on-site production will not be disturbed.

C. Ink barrels, buckets, mops, accessories and tools needed in production activities should be stored in a fixed position, and placed in the saddle shelter as far as possible.

D. Tool cabinets, workstations, tables and chairs should be placed from the perspective of applicability and aesthetics, and they are not allowed to move at will.

after the storage location of the above items is defined, it is not allowed to change at will. If the products cannot flow in the peak season, it needs to be temporarily adjusted, and it needs to be coordinated by the workshop director, especially paying attention to sorting at any time. It is not allowed to spread stalls indiscriminately and occupy the site and space that do not belong to this area.

2. through the control of resource raw materials (paper, ink and printing plate), the handling time is reduced, the waste of raw materials is reduced, the cost is reduced and the efficiency is improved.

(1) paper control: to ensure that paper, semi-finished products, waste pages and waste paper do not fall to the ground during production and operation.

The specific measures are as follows:

a. In the process of production and operation, all large pages, book stickers, and rough copies of books are bundled with the same size, and each number of a single book is accurate, with neat yards and consistent quantity. In case of odd bits, they should be marked with strips, and they are not allowed to be scattered irregularly, not to be scattered on the ground, and all of them should be covered with straw paper, which is dirty.

b waste paper and rotten pages returned in the production process are all enclosed in waste paper boxes or waste paper baskets, and waste paper is not exposed.

C. The pipe for binding and milling back paper wool is smooth and undamaged, and the scraps of paper shoveled from the waste cover of book repair should be put into the waste paper bucket, and it is not allowed to throw them anywhere. The waste paper scattered at the work site should be cleaned when it is in the first place or changed. The paper wool cut by the broadsword is pushed into the basket, filled with a basket, and poured down. It is not allowed to pile up on the ground for centralized cleaning. Paper wool on the conveyor belt of three-sided knives should be pushed into the paper wool pit conveniently. When changing knives at the work site, a special person should be appointed to clean it thoroughly, and it is not allowed to accumulate until after work. Clean the paper wool pit in the paper wool room every week to ensure that the paper wool pipeline is not blocked and the transmission belt in the pit runs normally.

D. Check the waste pages extracted from large pages, and don't throw them on the floor at will. The long version is counted by the number of pages, and the short version is counted by the number of pages. After checking, sort out the code tables in time and count them according to the reasons for the waste times. Fill in the code check list for large pages and let the printer know.

e. when the rubber tire encounters loose paper and tube cores, it is necessary to count the bar codes on the paper table, clear one and return one, and temporarily store them in the workshop site, and also cover them and put them in an inconspicuous position.

F. an assistant shall be appointed to clear the pages taken out in the printing process, and the pages shall be delivered to the designated place for storage in time. Except for a small amount of printed paper, no waste pages are allowed to be piled up at the production site.

(2) Ink, butter, engine oil, gasoline, etc. are all enclosed except for random use.

The specific measures are as follows:

A. Except those that must be used at any time, oil and various inks are not allowed to be placed at will at the production site. The ink drums, oil drums and other appliances used in the production process should be wiped clean and free of oil stains and ink marks.

B. add proper amount of ink, so that the ink in the ink tank does not overflow, and the handle of the ink shovel is clean.

C. Old oil ejected by butter injection, engine oil dripping from engine oil injection and gasoline dripping from plate wiping should be wiped off with cloth.

D. repair the leaking equipment in time, and connect it with a container for recycling if it can't be repaired for a while, especially wipe up the spilled oil and ink on the ground or pedal around the machine at any time.

(3) The bookpressing board, bookbinding board (rope) and PS version should be positioned for use, flowing and orderly.

The specific measures are as follows:

a. All kinds of bookbinding boards (ropes) are not allowed to throw or put rubber-tyred bookbinding splints and ropes at random in the production site, and are only used in color printing and bookbinding. In the page matching process, after the bundle is unpacked, it will be neatly packed, and 1 bookends will be bundled, and the head and tail will be put in order. When the page is pulled, it will be returned to the rubber tire. The bookbinding board for hardcover is only used in hardcover classes, and it will be stored in the hardcover classes for reuse after use. The bookbinding board (rope) used for folding is only used for folding. After it flows to page matching, it will be stored by the page matching process and returned collectively.

B. When using the bookholder, handle it with care, and don't throw it around.

every version of C. PS should be kept alive, and the waste version should be submitted to the version supply center for recycling and storage in time. The PS version for back-up sealing should also be stored in the plate storage rack, and the name and edition should be marked. In order to find it, don't stand around the machine or throw it on the ground at will.

3. By improving the environment of the production workshop, the 5S activities have become intuitive and operable at the production site, and the participation has been expanded.

(1) Do not spray water on equipment, paper and semi-finished products, and there is no water on the ground.

the specific measures are:

a. the water supply pipe does not leak, and the sewer is unblocked without blockage. The pool is completely transformed into tile veneer, and mop cloth and towel are installed, and towels and soap are provided for operators to wash their hands at any time.

B. divide the floors of all workshops into responsibility areas, assign special personnel to mop the floors with water, and do not splash the floors with water or dry sweep them with a broom, so that they will move dirty and fall on products, workstations and equipment. After use, the pool should be cleaned at any time, without water around it, and the pool surface should be clean.

C. Place the drinking water thermos flask at the designated place, and the water supplier shall be responsible for filling the water at the designated time. It is not allowed to overflow the water on the ground.

D. The fountain solution used for the machine should be changed frequently, and the crystal clear shall prevail. When wiping the plate, water is not allowed to drench the equipment.

(2) Minimize dust entering the production site. At the production site, the walls are always kept clean, and the windows are bright and clean. Equipment, window sills, work tables, white paper, auxiliary materials and finished products stored should be dust-free by hand.

The specific measures are as follows:

A. All around the workshop are hardened except for planting flowers and trees to reduce dust pollution sources; The forklift that enters the workshop to feed paper should also be wiped clean; The paper roll and the dust on the surface of the paper table can only be sent to the workshop after being wiped clean.

B. The factory skylights of major large-scale equipment are all sealed with glass, the walls below the window sill at the printing site are all painted, and all doors and windows are divided into responsibility areas, and they are wiped once a month.

C. window sills, work tables, tool cabinets, tables and chairs should be cleaned once a day, and the responsibility lies with people, leaving no dead ends.

D. All equipment should be equipped with a machine cover cloth. The stored paper and products are made into durable cover paper (fiberboard, pasted corrugated paper, laminated kraft paper, etc.) in workshops. Whoever uses the equipment is responsible, and whoever keeps the paper and finished products is responsible. Clean up the floating soil once a week.

e. all doors and windows in the workshop should be repaired regularly to ensure that there are no damaged doors and windows and broken glass, and try not to open windows except in summer.

(3) The items unrelated to production on the site shall be removed in time, and the relevant configuration shall be uniform, applicable and beautiful.

the specific measures are as follows:

a. the qualified team department should cut off the dressing room, and set up clothes hooks, shoe racks, tableware, drinking utensils storage racks and so on.

B. Multi-functional worktables and tool cabinets shall be uniformly configured, and chairs shall be provided for the positions that need to sit and work, so as to remove the sundries such as tool cabinets and broken tables and stools that have been idle for a long time.

C. Operators of large-scale printing presses wear full sets of work armpits and rubber shoes when they go to work, so as to ensure the safety of the machine.

D. the lamps and lanterns in the workshop shall be installed uniformly to ensure the brightness of production lighting, and shall not be placed everywhere.

e. slogans, banners, signboards, etc. hanging on the wall or at the top of the production site should be located reasonably and the layout should be applicable and beautiful.

The improvement of the above aspects through 5S management can eliminate the waste and unnecessary labor in the production process of printing industry, improve the production efficiency of enterprise departments, reduce production costs, improve the quality of products, and reduce or even eliminate the unqualified rate of products. Advanced 5S management technology plays a great role in the management of printing enterprises.
