Qinghai Lake Championship Schedule

The 2023 Qinghai Lake Race will be held from July 8, 2023 to July 6, 2023/KLOC-0. The specific arrangements are as follows:

The General Office of the People's Government of Qinghai Province issued a notice requesting the people's governments of municipalities and autonomous prefectures under its jurisdiction, and all the committees, offices, departments and bureaus of the provincial government to seriously organize and implement it in accordance with the Organization and Operation Plan for the 22nd International Road Cycling Race around Qinghai Lake in 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the Plan).

The plan is clear. In 2023, the 22nd International Road Cycling Race around Qinghai Lake (hereinafter referred to as the 22nd International Road Cycling Race around Lake) will be held in Qinghai Province from July 8 to July 6, 2023. The 22nd Lake Tournament opened in Xining on July 8th, 2023, and closed in Chaka Town, Wulan County, Haixi Prefecture from 9th to 6th.

According to the Plan, the 22nd Lake Tournament will last for 8 days, with 8 stages and 22 teams, with a total distance of 1.344 km. The race distance is 1294 km, and the transition is 50 km. The starting point of the competition is Xining City and the end point is Chaka Town, Wulan County, Haixi Prefecture. The stage passes through Xining, Haidong, Hainan, Haibei and Haixi.

Introduction of Qinghai Lake Race

The international road cycling race around Qinghai Lake, referred to as "Lake Race" for short, has been held since 2002, and it is held from June to August every year in Qinghai Province and neighboring Gansu Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Approved by the International Cycling Union, the Lake Race was rated as Level 2. HC, this is the top multi-day cycling race in Asia and the highest international road cycling race in the world.

The characteristics of high altitude, long distance and many climbs around the lake make the competition particularly exciting, with high appreciation and strong team ability. The route design of the Lake Tournament is centered on Qinghai Lake, where the blue waves are vast and the birds' wings are like clouds, and extends to the surrounding agricultural areas in eastern Qinghai, the animal husbandry desert areas in western Qinghai, the alpine meadow grassland in southern Qinghai Plateau, Hexi Corridor in Gansu, and Jinan of Ningxia Yellow River. The natural scenery along the way is magnificent.
