Preparations began in 2004 and officially opened to the public on September 30, 2008. The building area of the whole museum is more than 6 100 square meters, and the exhibition area is more than 2400 square meters.

The main functions are divided into: exhibition area, social education area, comprehensive service area, business research area, administrative office area, security area, collection area, equipment area and so on.
