Where will the World Wetlands Day be held this year?

At present, China has built 602 wetland nature reserves and 898 national wetland parks, with 57 "wetlands of international importance", with a wetland protection rate of 49.03%. February 2nd is the 22nd World Wetlands Day. This year's "World Wetland Day" in China was held in Haizhu National Wetland Park, and the State Forestry Administration released the news on the spot.

Haizhu National Wetland Park is located at the southern end of Guangzhou's new central axis, with an area three times that of new york Central Park and only 3 kilometers away from Guangzhou's landmark Guang Zhouta. There are 39 rivers running through it, forming a green natural barrier in the city center.

According to Bao Daming, chief engineer of Wetland Protection and Management Center of State Forestry Administration, wetland usually refers to the intersection of land and water. China is rich in wetland resources, and urban wetlands play a variety of functions, such as flood control, water supply, garbage disposal, green space and livelihood sources. They are important natural and cultural landscapes of the city, bearing the rich cultural accumulation of the city and creating conditions for livable towns.
