How to view the professionalization of football in my country

Professionalization means standardizing, normalizing and institutionalizing Chinese football.

Chinese football became professional in 1994. It was marked by the opening of the Chinese Football League Group A that year.

On April 17, 1994, the Marlboro Cup 1994 National Football Team (Group A) League began, and the opening ceremony was held in Chengdu. The six stadiums were attended by enthusiastic spectators. About 150,000 people watched the first round of the match. Among them, the number of spectators in Chengdu and Yanji reached more than 40,000, marking the beginning of the professional development of Chinese football.

The Chinese Football League Group A was first established in 1987. That year coincided with the opening of the Sixth National Games, as well as the Chinese national team's entry into the Olympic football competition and other major football events. The Chinese Football Association took this opportunity to carry out a series of reforms and began to trial the division of the first-class league into two groups, namely, Class-A Group A and Class-A Group B. Since then, the competition system has been changed several times. In 1994, Chinese football fully implemented the club system. There were 12 teams participating in the first professional league, which adopted a home and away double round-robin system. In 2004, the Chinese Football Association officially launched the "Chinese Football Super League" brand; the original Group A league was restructured into the Chinese Football Super League, and the League A came to an end.
