Yunnan University was founded in 1922 and officially opened on April 20th, 2023, which means that Yunnan University will celebrate its centenary birthday on April 20th, 2023.

At the launching ceremony, Fang Jingyun, academician of China Academy of Sciences and president of Yunnan University, issued the Announcement on the Celebration of Yunnan University 100 (No.1) and the centenary emblem of the school, and invited alumni, teachers and students, social leaders and friends from all walks of life to gather in Kunming, the spring city, to celebrate the centenary with Yun Qi University.

At the same time, global alumni bless their alma mater through video images. In the video of global alumni blessing, 1953, a famous literary theorist who graduated from Yunnan University, and 1958, an academician of China Academy of Engineering, both put forward the expectation of "I hope my alma mater will train more talents and make more contributions to the country and Yunnan Province".

In this video, Dai Yongnian, an academician of China Academy of Engineering who died, recorded a video of blessing his alma mater before his death. In addition, alumni from Nanchang, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Chongqing and Hainan also recorded videos to wish their alma mater a happy birthday.

On the same day, the special fund for the centennial celebration of Yunnan University, the overall work plan and the one-year countdown commemorative cover were officially released, and the website of the centennial celebration of Yunnan University was launched.

Fang Jingyun said that the centenary celebration is an important opportunity for Yunnan University to achieve high-quality development. Yunnan University will hold a series of activities with the theme of "welcome the century, promote development and open up new opportunities", pay tribute to the magnificent chapter of the century, unite the majestic power of the century, make every effort to promote the new development of the university and comprehensively shape the new image of Dayun in the past century.
