Highlights of counselors’ work reflections and experiences

Through the study of the "Regulations on the Construction of the Team of College Counselors in General Universities" and combined with my own practice in the position of college counselors, I have a more comprehensive understanding of the work of college counselors. Understand and recognize. College counselors are the main force in colleges and universities engaged in moral education and carrying out ideological and political education for college students. They are an important part of the teaching team, mentors, guides and close friends for the healthy growth of college students, and an important source of reserve cadres for the party and government. , shouldering the dual tasks of ideological education and administrative management. Therefore, as a college counselor, I have the following three aspects of experience.

The first thing is to be knowledgeable. The work of college counselors is a systematic project that involves many aspects. And with the development of society, young students' minds are becoming more and more active and much more open than before. Since most of them are only children, they lack social experience and experience, are immature in thinking and dealing with problems, and have weak self-management ability. This requires us to determine the educational ideas suitable for the students' characteristics and implement effective educational methods based on the specific situations of the students. Facing such a group, I thought of learning from the teachers around me and sharing more experiences in management. Deputy Secretary Zhang Xiaoming of the Party Branch of our College of Liberal Arts has been working in the college for a long time and has great experience in managing students, so I asked him for advice. He also introduced to me one by one the methods, experiences and lessons learned in managing student work without reservation. For example: adopting different methods in management education for different students to achieve the same effect. Some students are shy and care about face, and critical education cannot be carried out in public, but can only be educated through individual heart-to-heart conversations. Some students think they are well-informed, and relying solely on anonymous critical education and heart-to-heart conversations is not enough. Those who cannot touch his ideological soul can be criticized by name if necessary to achieve the purpose of educating the majority.

At work, I found that the common shortcomings of boys are absenteeism, lateness, leaving early, skipping classes, and staying up late at night while surfing the Internet. Most of the problems that often occur among girls are trivial conflicts, but if they are not discovered in time, they can be resolved immediately. Dealing with it can also lead to heated arguments and conflicts. Moreover, once a gap is formed between girls, it is easy to hold grudges in their hearts and it is not easy to eliminate them in a short period of time. This requires active guidance and timely resolution of conflicts. In short, to do a good job as a college counselor, you must learn by doing and learn by doing. It is an effective way to improve the work of college counselors by constantly going deep into classrooms and dormitories, communicating more with students, and constantly summing up experiences and lessons in practice.

The second thing is to understand fraternity. I started my work on the day when new students checked in. I carefully checked the files of each new student, learned as much as possible about their family situation, remembered their names, and carefully recorded them in detail in my work notes. , strive to ensure that new students can tell their name and the school they graduated from when they register. Because I know that when I meet these students, if I can call them by name immediately and talk to them about their hometown, I can quickly get closer to them and have a good communication, which will be very good. of managing them. I remember that at the end of the night when registration was over, although I was exhausted, I still insisted on going to the students’ dormitories to see if they had settled in and if there were any difficulties. I went to every dormitory to give them safety instructions. , talk about life, talk about unity. In subsequent exchanges, some students told me that they were very moved when they saw the college counselor come to visit us in the dormitory, and they heartily accepted me as a college counselor who was not much older than them.

The students in my class come from all over the province, with different customs, living habits, and family education backgrounds. Moreover, the level of the school determines that the admission scores of these students will not be too high, but I think we We can't just focus on the shortcomings of students' low academic performance. We should be good at digging and discovering their shining points. They need more care, because they may have heard more criticism than care and praise before. This is not only in school, but also in schools. The same may be true at home, which requires us to create a good learning and growth environment for them. Only by caring for them can we discover their simplicity and shining ideological and moral character. Although their academic performance is slightly worse and they have more minor problems, I believe, and facts have proven that the vast majority of students have good moral character.

Only by correcting our own attitudes can we truly care for our students, and the relationship between students and college counselors and teachers can be harmonious. Only by your critical education of students can students truly accept it ideologically and emotionally, and can they consciously overcome difficulties. own shortcomings. We often say that the power of love is great. Let us use all our love to educate and guide our students. How many students cannot be educated? The key is whether we have positioned ourselves correctly. As long as the time is right, most students All students can successfully complete their studies under the guidance of teachers.

On the other hand, I think students must not only learn to receive love, but also learn to give love. Students are required to love the motherland and not do anything that harms the country; love their parents and do what they can for them. Love the class collective, and everyone must value the honor of the class higher than their own honor.

The third thing is to know how to manage. The work of a college counselor is a thousand words, but in the end it still has to be implemented in management. In terms of student management, I adopt a management model that combines institutionalization, standardization, and scientific management, and add humanized management into practice. I learned more about the students in the class through military training. In such group activities, it is easy to see the basic qualities of a student. For example, which students are more active in military training, more willing to serve the classmates, and can better communicate with others. Classmates exchange. Then I think these students are at least more adaptable to university life than other students. The collective needs such people. These students can be the cadres of the class. If there are problems, they can be adjusted; on the other hand, some students are in military training. If their performance is poor, they do not obey orders, they ask for leave at every turn, and they want to go back to the dormitory to rest, then these students need my special attention to prevent them from having the same problems in their future study and life.

After returning from the National Day holiday, the freshmen officially started their college life. In order to enable them to adapt to college life more quickly, cultivate their independent abilities, and study and live better, in addition to regular class meetings, I Every once in a while, a theme class meeting is held in the class, allowing students to discuss what it means to be a real college student, how to better learn knowledge and exercise their abilities in college. This has a very good effect. Some classmates told me that after every discussion, the topic of their bedtime talk before going to bed at night must have just been discussed. Therefore, I think these students are all good students, students who think well, students who are reasonable, and students who can educate well. It depends on whether you are willing to spend time and energy to do the work.

Sometimes some students in the class make mistakes, which I think are very representative, so I initiate a discussion in the class and ask the students to understand what is right and wrong by themselves. For example: some students like to surf the Internet, so I asked the students to organize a debate competition to discuss the pros and cons of surfing the Internet. Finally, I came to the conclusion that the Internet should be used in a moderate manner, which means that it does not affect one's study and does not harm one's health. So from now on, most students can restrain themselves and surf the Internet on weekends, instead of going to Internet cafes to stay up all night playing games online whenever they have time.

The problem of students’ evening self-study is a problem I encountered in my work. At the beginning, some students did not understand our school’s self-study method of stipulating time and place. They always thought that they should be free after going to college. Yes, you can study in the classroom or in other places such as the library. Other students are not used to this way of studying together with many people. The learning environment of studying together in the evening is noisy and they are not willing to study in the evening. By talking to them, I let them understand the importance of evening self-study, which can not only deepen the emotional exchanges between classmates, but also cultivate the collective consciousness of the students. I require them to insist on evening self-study, and students can slowly accept it.

But in the middle of this semester, I discovered another problem. The number of people who study in the evening can be guaranteed, but how much knowledge do students learn in the two hours of self-study in the evening? This is also That is to say, the quality of self-study in the evening is an issue. Through communication with class cadres and some classmates, we found that there are very few students who really don’t want to study. However, these few people have influenced some students who have weak self-control, making them not want to study. They chat, use mobile phones to surf the Internet, etc. during evening self-study. Make phone calls, which results in students who want to study not having a better learning environment.

In response to this situation, I gave the class cadres of the four classes an opinion that rules and regulations must be used to manage evening self-study. I gave the task of formulating the evening self-study management system to the class cadres, so that on the one hand they can better listen to Students' opinions make the system more targeted, and on the other hand, they also exercise the abilities of class cadres. After the management system was formulated, it was recognized by the majority of students, and the quality of evening self-study has also been greatly improved.

At the same time, every once in a while, I ask each classmate in the class to write a criticism and suggestion about the work of the class cadres and college counselors, and then collect and organize these criticisms and suggestions, and discuss them with the class cadres. Conduct detailed discussions, deeply reflect on the criticisms raised by classmates, and gradually correct them in future work; adopt valuable suggestions and reasonable opinions put forward by classmates, and try to use them in future work. On the one hand, this prevents class cadres and college counselors from making mistakes at work without knowing it. On the other hand, it also deepens the emotional and ideological exchanges between students, class cadres, and college counselors, and makes the entire class work in a positive direction. develop in a positive, stable, healthy and harmonious direction.

In short, I think that as long as you sincerely serve the students, students can see it and feel it, and they will give you back with practical actions. This is what I got: When the school sports meeting At the opening, I was moved when I saw the students from my four classes dressed in neat clothes, wearing eye-catching slogans, and shouting loud slogans. When I saw the debate competition between the students in my four classes, it was so vivid. I was touched when I saw students in my class winning the first prize in the Party and League Knowledge Competition; when I saw students in my class winning the gold medal in the Anhui College Student Calligraphy and Painting Competition, I was moved I was moved again

With the continuous changes and development of the social situation, college counselors must take a proactive attitude to improve themselves, improve themselves, and strive to cultivate themselves into a person who is politically strong, professional, and style-savvy. Positive ideological and political educators of college students provide important guarantees for improving work efficiency. At the same time, to become a qualified and excellent college counselor teacher, you must continue to work hard, work down-to-earth, constantly study new situations and situations, summarize new experiences, solve new problems, and constantly enrich yourself. Improve your work ability in practice and contribute to the development of students and schools.

Impressions and Experiences of Counselor Work 2

Life is like a kaleidoscope, and the life of a college counselor is like a five-flavor bottle: sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, salty, all five flavors.

In my opinion, every college counselor in our college is excellent, and everyone has sacrificed a lot for students. I feel very honored to receive the award of Outstanding College Counselor, because this is the affirmation and recognition of my work in the past year by the college leaders and colleagues.

College counselors are an important part of the teaching staff of colleges and universities. They are the backbone of colleges and universities engaged in moral education and carry out ideological and political education for college students. They are the guides and guides for the healthy growth of college students. Although the work of a college counselor is very tedious, the big things can come from the small details. One year of working as a college counselor has been full of ups and downs. Sometimes I feel a sense of accomplishment, sometimes I feel very frustrated. I have grown up with the students. I have completed the transformation from a student to a teacher, from a weak character to a very strong one. I also gradually matured. Now I will talk about some of my experiences and share them with you

My first experience is: to be a good guide, you must first win the respect of students with your own behavior and understand their inner activities. .

The same sentence, said at different times, in different tones, and from different people, will have completely different effects. When a student respects you and admires you very much, he will attach great importance to what you say; but when the student does not accept you at all, does not agree with you, or even looks down on you, no matter how much you say or how sincere you are, he will not be too lazy. Listen, I just find you annoying. And this kind of respect may be earned through your enterprising spirit, your love, your patience, your integrity, your open-mindedness, your self-confidence, your words of encouragement, and your on-point comments. , obtained by a trusting look.

From the day you take them to military training, accept the test with them in the sun. At the same time, you must remember the face of each student. When you can blurt out their name, they will be moved, and at least they know that you are treating them with care. They chatted with every student during the period and learned about some of their study and living habits, which will be very helpful for future work. I also strictly follow the daily life system stipulated by the college. I often check classes and bedtime to see how they are doing in class. I must criticize and educate students who often miss classes and understand why they cannot consciously control themselves.

My second experience is: encourage more and criticize less.

The college period is a critical period for college students to establish confidence in life. An inadvertent word of praise from a teacher at a certain time may make him thank you for the rest of his life; an indiscriminate word when he is extremely angry may also make him hate you for the rest of his life. I always tell myself that I must encourage students more and criticize them less. I still haven't done enough on this point, because sometimes not all students can understand my painstaking efforts, and they will inevitably say some angry words, but to tell the truth is all for them.

Although students often say to some teachers to whom they are grateful, you care and help us just like our parents. When students make mistakes, you must consider their emotions, personality traits, and ideological status, and find a way to criticize and educate them in a way that they can accept. For some students with good psychological quality or who are very naughty, you may be able to point out something wrong with them directly, and they will be more likely to accept it. For some students who are timid and have low self-esteem, once they make a mistake, you have to pay special attention to the way you communicate with them and learn to point out the problem to them skillfully. Otherwise, their self-esteem will easily be hurt by your careless words, and once hurt, it will be very difficult for them to regain their trust in you. They will feel that their status in the teacher's mind will be lower from now on, which will also make them more timid and inferior in the future, and they will want to hide from you when they see you. So I think even when criticizing students, we should find a way that they can accept and pay attention to some art. Because the purpose of criticism is to make him improve, not to stab him. If he cannot accept your criticism, he will not be able to achieve the effect.

My third experience is: let students feel that your care is everywhere.

Although we cannot be around our classmates all the time, you should let them feel that your care is everywhere. You are not their nanny, but you can be the guide and guardian of their spiritual home. On special days when your classmates feel difficult, lonely and helpless, you will appear in time no matter what, be their strong backing and give them strength. Sometimes, you will find that some of the things you do seem to be caring about a certain classmate, but your words and deeds, and the way you deal with others, are all paid attention to by the whole class. They are secretly observing how you treat your classmates. If you handle something well, you will convey a sense of confidence to other students. If you don't handle it well, it may cause bad influence and emotions, and it will soon spread among the whole class, causing all the students to lose confidence in you. When something happens to a student, he must rush to the scene as soon as possible and deal with it promptly. I remember that during the military training, a student stepped on a construction nail and sent the student to the infirmary in time. When I saw the student's pain, I really wanted to cry and had to comfort the student. In subsequent emergencies, I was able to deal with them decisively, so that students could rest assured and parents could rest assured.

My fourth experience is: to be more loving and patient within the scope of your ability.

There are still some poor students among the students I teach. The first thing is to help them get rid of their inner inferiority. Chat with them often to understand their inner activities and inspire their confidence in learning! Explore them. specialties to guide them to become self-reliant. What moved me very much was a student who wrote me a letter after talking to her several times. In order to pay for tuition, this student went to work in Guangdong during the summer vacation. She received a lot of looks, but she told me that in fact, in this world There are still many good people, because some people helped her. Later in her studies and life, she discovered that she was able to endure hardships, and was recommended to work in a work-study position at the school. She was also praised by the person in charge for being serious and diligent in her studies. Seeing her growth makes me feel gratified.

My fifth experience is: take the initiative to use every opportunity to deeply understand the students' ideological status and help them get out of their confusion.

In fact, the students we teach have their own characteristics. Some students come here because they did not perform well in the college entrance examination. There are a group of students who come here because they have poor study habits and poor self-control ability. . So their mentality is different. Especially for college students, many of them don’t have very clear goals. They think that there is no one to manage them in college and they can do whatever they want. Suddenly a college counselor checks this and that, and they feel like they are still in high school. Regarding this For students like this, you still need to calmly reason with them, and at the same time cheer them up and tell them their shining points. At least some students will understand your intentions.

The students I teach have more or less psychological problems. On the surface, you may not be able to see these problems at all, and even his performance will give you an illusion. For example, he is obviously a person with low self-esteem, but he shows that he is quite arrogant and does not take many things to heart; sometimes he is obviously a lonely and closed person at heart, but he appears to be cheerful. people. Therefore, we still need to go deep among them, contact the class committee frequently, communicate with their parents, and nip potential dangers in the cradle.

In short, I think that if you want to be a good college counselor, you must first love this profession, so that you can devote yourself to this job with great enthusiasm.

In the past few years, I have achieved some results in my work, but this is already in the past. What I value more is the shortcomings of my work in the past few years, so I will continue to summarize Experience, make up for these shortcomings, thereby continuously improving one's abilities in all aspects, working harder in future work, and striving for greater achievements, so as to live up to the hope of the leader and the trust of colleagues.
