Brief introduction of Huangpu river

1, Huangpu River is a landmark river in Shanghai, which flows through the urban area of Shanghai and divides Shanghai into Puxi and Pudong. Huangpu River is an important waterway in Shanghai. After accepting the Wusong River (Suzhou River) at the Waibaidu Bridge in the center of Shanghai, it flows into the Yangtze River at Wusongkou, which is the last tributary of the Yangtze River before it joins the East China Sea.

2. The total length of Huangpu River is about113km, and the river is 300-770m wide. Huangpu River starts from Dianshan Lake, the peak of Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai, and Dianshan Lake receives a lot of incoming water from the upstream Taihu Lake basin. "Pu" means river in ancient Wu dialect, generally referring to artificial river. The lower reaches of Huangpu River was once called Huang Xie Puhe Chunjiang God. It is said that this is because Shanghai was once the fief of Huang Xie, the God of Chu Chun in the Warring States Period.
