Only three endangered specimens of Abies baishanzu have settled in Hangzhou.
Zhejiang museum of natural history is a purely public welfare organization. The new museum is located in the West Lake Cultural Square in the center of Hangzhou, with a building scale of over 20,000 square meters. It is one of the "five billion" projects in Zhejiang Province. Nearly 6,543,800+3,000 precious specimens were collected to record the life course.
On 24th, two people's distinguished guests formally joined the130,000 family.
In order to let more people know and protect the rare species Abies baishanzu in baishanzu Nature Reserve, qingyuan county, Zhejiang Province, we decided to donate the fruit specimens of Abies baishanzu to Zhejiang Natural History Museum.
It is understood that Abies baishanzu is an evergreen tree of the gymnosperm Abies, which is unique to Zhejiang Province. It is the only remaining Abies plant in the southeast coast of China. At present, there are only three species of plants in nature, which are listed as national first-class protected wild plants and listed in 1987 "List of Rare and Endangered Plants in China (Volume I)", belonging to the endangered plant level.
The fruit specimen of Abies baishanzu donated to zhejiang museum of natural history "lives alone" in a glass cover and can be preserved permanently after special treatment. Chen Deliang, chief engineer of baishanzu Nature Reserve, told the reporter, "Abies baishanzu is an important material for studying glacier geology, paleoclimate and flora succession in the southeast coast of China."
The preciousness of Abies baishanzu lies in its rarity and scientific research value. The leopard skin products donated by Fan Wan, a citizen of Hangzhou, are still vivid and precious after a hundred years of vicissitudes.
At the donation ceremony, Yan Hongming, director of Zhejiang Natural Museum, presented the collection certificates of baishanzu Nature Reserve and Fanwan in qingyuan county, Zhejiang Province, thanking the private donors for their enthusiasm for science popularization.
