Usage 1: indicates the current frequent or habitual action. (Verb is prototype, third person +s)

1. Tom tied a belt around his waist.

Analysis: Tom (third person) wears a belt around his waist.

Tom wore a belt around his waist yesterday, today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow ... maybe he has been wearing it all the time, and it has always been like this.

The train runs back and forth between the two towns. This train goes back and forth between two cities.

Usage 2: treat truth, objective existence and scientific facts.
