Etiology and prevention of angina pectoris

What is angina pectoris?

Angina pectoris is paroxysmal chest pain or chest discomfort caused by coronary insufficiency and acute and temporary myocardial ischemia and hypoxia. It is characterized by paroxysmal chest squeezing pain, which may be accompanied by other symptoms. The pain is mainly located behind the sternum and can radiate to the precordial area and the left upper limb. This disease is more common in men, and most patients are over 40 years old. After angina pectoris occurs, it must be treated actively to avoid more serious consequences.

Etiology of angina pectoris

1 coronary atherosclerosis

Factors such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia and smoking make some components of blood lipids deposit on the arterial wall, forming atherosclerotic plaques and narrowing the lumen. When the stenosis exceeds 70%, the blood flow decreases and the myocardial tissue is ischemic, leading to angina pectoris. 2. The balance of myocardial oxygen supply and demand is disordered.

When the workload of the heart needs to be increased due to physical activity and other reasons, the coronary artery can not be dilated accordingly, which leads to angina pectoris caused by myocardial ischemia, that is, angina pectoris may occur when the balance of oxygen supply and demand in the heart is disturbed.

3. Coronary artery spasm

The human body can regulate and control the blood supply of myocardium through some nerve and body fluid factors. Some diseases and life causes can cause spasmodic contraction of coronary artery and sudden stenosis of lumen, leading to temporary myocardial ischemia and angina pectoris.

4. In daily life, there are many indirect causes of angina pectoris, such as neuropsychiatric factors, emotional changes, anxiety and sadness, which can all induce angina pectoris. In addition, hypertension complicated with hyperlipidemia, diabetes, excessive physical labor and strenuous exercise are also the causes of angina pectoris.
