Do you only know IKEA about Nordic style? See which brands Norwegians buy

I heard that King Harald V and Queen of Norway have been visiting China since the 11th. Friends around me who usually don’t pay much attention to Northern Europe have also begun to pay attention to Norway in the past two days - this corner of Northern Europe. The kingdom became curious. ?

Although Norway borders Sweden, its furniture design style is deeply influenced by Denmark. The balance chairs, growth chairs, riding chairs, etc. that are now regarded as classics are all made by Norwegians.

Norwegian design in the past 20 years is also not inferior to Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

Living in such a design culture Norwegians, what do their homes look like?

The case shared with you today is a family of three from Oslo, the capital of Norway.

The classic Nordic furniture that can be seen everywhere, and the clean and light color matching will definitely make you sigh: This is the real Nordic style!

House information

City Oslo, Norway

Owner Edith, husband Ole and 2-year-old daughter

Area 150㎡ (two floors)< /p>

Living for 1 year (own)

Finding a house you like in Oslo has become increasingly difficult in recent years. So even though the two-story townhouse was in disrepair, Edith's family was still determined to buy it and give their daughter a good space to grow up.

Tear off the "antique" wallpaper from the 1970s, replace it with comfortable light-colored wooden floors, and then move in various classic models purchased by the couple. This is the neat look you see now. Stylish, warm and chic home.

Entrance to the entrance?

As soon as you step into the door, the mini shoe and hat area next to the door attracts people.

The shoe racks and clothes racks are from Danish brands Normann Copenhagen and Vitra respectively, two very popular brands in China.

The furniture itself restrains the use of shapes and colors, and uses daily items to show the color of life. The Nordic home matching concept can be seen in this entrance corner.

A tall storage cabinet was built deep in the foyer. They painted the entrance cabinet in the same blue tone as the Stool 60 stool from Finland, echoing the color of the foyer carpet. ?

Crossing the foyer, I found that the living room was so transparent! Although the corridor is only about 1 meter wide, it is not dark because of the good visibility ahead. ?

Without wasting the hallway to a corner in the middle of the living room, they placed a pedal piano.

The piano stool has an elegant round base. It comes from the 1960s, when Eero Saarinen's Tulip Chair was very popular in Northern Europe.

Guest room

Walking to the living room, I couldn’t wait to take a look at the oasis outside the house! Although Oslo has a small population, it is a luxury to have a backyard in an urban area where land is at a premium.

Among the raspberry and gooseberry bushes, apple, cherry, and plum trees grow.

The hostess Edith is a lover of Nordic classic design. She and her husband both like mid-20th century Nordic classic furniture. A slightly retro Scandinavian style is the theme of this home. ?

The side of the living room opposite the dining table is simply responsible for the beauty of the entire house! The classic Eames rocking chair, AJ floor lamp, and Tom Dixon hollow candle holder emit warm tones that are harmonious with the cold blue-green background. ?

The 3-piece side table comes from Habitat, a brand known as the "French version of IKEA".

The footrest next to the rocking chair was bought when the family traveled to Morocco.

The dining table and chairs cleverly echo the theme color of the living room. They are the Bambi series purchased by Edith’s parents at the Rasted & Relling store in Oslo and were born in 1954.

The age of the furniture seems to give this home an interesting soul. The white Scandinavian walls are paired with blues, grays, and nudes, which give the space a full sense of life. ?

String is an open storage rack that is known as having influenced the way humans store things. IKEA’s best-selling storage racks have to give in to it.

Jieldé floor lamp exudes the individual metal lines of the Mid-century modern style at its peak.

Kitchen

In the spacious kitchen, IKEA’s custom-made cabinets store all the messy kitchen sundries. ?

The top and bottom of the cabinet are fully covered to prevent dust from entering, and the overall visual effect is also perfect!

The countertop is made of marble. Although Edith knows that it is troublesome to take care of marble countertops (marble can easily become dirty if stains are not cleaned in time), but for the sake of appearance, it is worth doing more housework! ?

Choose oil-resistant fabrics with imitation stone patterns as baffles for the walls. When the friends walked to the kitchen, they found that they couldn't take their eyes away from such a beautiful wall.

If you like Nordic-style home items, you may have heard of Vitra’s most famous wall storage board-Uten.Silo. It is hung on the wall on one side of the countertop.

The seemingly simple small dining area is also very elegant. Hans Wegner's Y chair is inspired by the Chinese armchair, which was inherited from Edith's grandmother. It was the favorite chair of Norwegians in the 1950s and has now served four generations!

The baby's Tripp Trapp growth chair is a must-have classic chair for almost every Norwegian family with children. It can even meet the needs of a child throughout his life and is very practical. Tripp Trapp chairs are said to last a lifetime

The slogan on the wall is "Hurra for Sol", which means "Hurra for Sol". Because this small dining area is where the whole family enjoys breakfast.

Stairs

Climb up the stairs. The design of the stairs is simple and exquisite.

“Sometimes when I look at the steps of the stairs, I can imagine the sound of the baby’s little feet pattering downstairs as he grows older.” Edith told us.

As you slide your hands on the beautiful round railings, you can still hear the creaking sound of this old escalator.

Master Bedroom

Welcome to the master bedroom on the second floor! The couple likes plywood, so they DIY a headboard full of natural flavor.

Walking to the small balcony, you can see the luxurious large yard in the backyard. The scenery here is the best all year round.

Children’s room?

This is the future room of my daughter Ebba. The small sofa is an old piece of furniture left behind by the previous landlord. Edith's mother-in-law re-made the fabric so that the baby can see her grandma's thoughts every day.

The red Pantone chair is placed at the door of the room. Ebba has been aware of classic design since she was a child.

Ebba’s wardrobe takes up part of the space in the master bedroom, and the cabinet door was painted with blackboard paint by her clever parents for the baby to doodle on.

Bathroom

Both the small bathroom on the first floor and the large bathroom on the second floor have windows, so white is the main color of all bathrooms.

Guest bedroom?

The small room next to the bedroom is temporarily divided into a guest room, filled with bright yellows and oranges.

Study?

Another large item left behind by my grandparents, the desk, is placed in the smallest room. It has become a good place to quietly read and do handicrafts.
