When the epidemic was high in Shanghai, the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention asked every city to build a shelter hospital in order to cope with the unexpected situation, preferring to reserve it rather than use it, even when it was not available. Suzhou first built a bomb shelter in Jinchang New Town Gymnasium in gusu district.

The hospice hospital opened on April 8, 2022, with a total of about 800 beds. During its operation, the shelter hospital was equipped with more than 200 medical staff. With the victory of the epidemic in Suzhou, another hut hospital was officially closed after disinfection.
