The first time in life - Yellow Horse Documentary
There are many firsts in life. If they are not unforgettable, the pain is not deep enough.
Before the game, a friend shared his first experience:
1. Sleep well these days and drink more water to prevent the body from being dehydrated in advance
2. Take an energy gel before departure and take 6 of them for 7.5-10km. Eat the first one, and one every 5 kilometers thereafter
3. Don’t drink too much water before departure. Drink water during the first 5 kilometers and then every 5 kilometers thereafter. Replenish water every 2.5 kilometers, within half a cup each time, don’t drink too much, energy gel itself also has the function of replenishing water
These are completely consistent with what the Iron Man said.
On Friday 7.1, Ironman, Iron Lady, JF, Downhill Queen and Pepper’s dad had a practice meal together at Huang Jihuang, and even had noodles, my childhood favorite. However, there is no lard and scallion seasoning, and it is not a noodle soup, so it is just a Carb Load.
I was severely sleep deprived on Friday night, as if I had severe altitude sickness after going to Tibet and kept waking up. Thinking about catching a flight early in the morning, I woke up at least a dozen times.
Finally when the alarm clock was about to go off, I packed up and took an Uber to the airport. I noticed something was wrong when I checked in at the airport. I read the email saying that I had not paid and confirmed it. Later it turned out to be a false alarm. It seemed that my order had been placed twice.
After the security check, I casually went to Hungry Jack’s fast food restaurant and had a large breakfast with coffee, which made me feel full. I won’t complain that HJ basically only has milk-flavored cappuccino.
The funny thing is that when I checked in, I was assigned seat 52B for the first time. I felt super pretentious, so I rejected it. I chose a seat by the window so I could see the scenery outside the window.
The flight was short, but the scenery in the air was good.
I didn’t sleep well for several days in a row, and I had to get up early the next day to rush to the competition place, so I went to bed very early at night. I fell asleep around 21:30 and set the alarm for 5:00.
I slept well all night and didn’t even hear the alarm clock. I was woken up by a friend at 5:11. After washing up, I ate three slices of bread for breakfast as mini God told me.
I used the small water bottle I brought back from the plane to prepare the pre-run formula.
There was no traffic jam in the early morning. I arrived not far from the stadium on time. The road was closed and I walked over. I walked towards a crowded place and found it.
There was a bag in storage. After putting it away, there were still 30 minutes left before the race, so I drank the pre-run formula. I found the Boshen group and met them for the first time. We had only chatted in the group before. We took a group photo as agreed and then went to the starting point.
There are many mobile toilets, but you still have to queue. After doing the final cleaning, everything is ready to go.
The starting point in Area B was already overcrowded, so we simply climbed over the iron fence and went in directly.
Twenty seconds before the starting gun sounded at 07:20, I opened three apps on my phone to monitor pace, Mi Sports, keep and Strava. There were more than 5,000 people, and everyone walked slowly to the starting line. It took a full 5 minutes to cross the starting line.
I have always warned myself to stick to the golden rule of speed control, so I ran very relaxedly with Amy, at a pace of about 6 minutes. Many people surpass us, but secretly tell themselves that they will catch up with them in the second half of the journey.
We encouraged each other along the way and ran slowly so we still had the chance to take photos. Along the coast, the scenery is good.
I replenished the first energy gel at 7.5 kilometers on the road. I found that Mr. Amy only brought one energy gel, but I brought enough, so I gave one to her.
I noticed some discomfort in my right ankle about 12 kilometers away. But it will be fine after a few kilometers. I met someone who competed in a wheelchair. I think of the father-son team who took his disabled son to participate in a triathlon.
At 23 kilometers, Amy felt that she could not keep up, so she asked me to run away first. At that time, we were not far from the 415 rabbit. After a brief greeting, I continued to catch up with 415 Rabbits alone. I caught up with him and ran several kilometers, walked with him for a few seconds, did stretching exercises, and then continued running. The first place finisher who finished the race in 2.09 had long since returned. He was also the second champion for two consecutive years.
Just running and running along the way. Soon we arrived at 30 kilometers and saw the recording equipment.
I heard from everyone that most people will hit a wall after 30km, but they feel fine and have no discomfort. I didn't forget to pose for photos along the way. Later, my friend said, were you going for a run or posing for photos? It was so funny. Of course, some friends also said, "You are the most photogenic person I have ever seen running a marathon, hahaha."
When we turned back, we met the Chinese cosplayer again. Compared with the exaggerated ones in China, this is the most exaggerated thing I have seen in this event.
When I ran 37 kilometers, I thought about sending a selfie to the running group to tell everyone that I was relaxed and everything was fine. According to my plan, the second half of the race should be faster than the first half, and I should gradually speed up, so I started to speed up slowly after 37. But at 39 kilometers, I found a feeling like small beads beating in the inner calf muscles. The cramping feeling that I had never experienced before during running came just like this quietly. I quickly slowed down, but then it wasn't enough, so I just started walking slowly. At the same time, I also took selfies and sent them to my friends to say I was fine. My friend joked that it is so easy, why don't you save time and get a good score and waste time taking selfies? Little did he know that at that time, I was about to ask for off-site guidance, because I had never encountered cramps before, and I was at a loss for a while. Sent a message to Iron Man saying he was about to get cramps, but maybe he was busy.
The cramps lasted for two kilometers and took several minutes. Later, I felt much better after stretching next to a car, and started catching up on the wasted time from 41 kilometers away. From a pace of 7 minutes and 26 minutes, to a sprint of 5 minutes and 44, and then to a sprint of 4 minutes and 44, I passed many people in the last two kilometers and even before the finish line. I found that it was especially easy to catch up when everyone was tired at the end and seemed to be walking.
As we approached, there were many spectators cheering and cheering. I heard someone say that the end point is at the turn, so I rushed over. When I got to the turn, I ran a few steps and saw a big inflatable arch indicating that there were still 250 meters to the end. Although it wasn't far, I almost stalled when I saw this. In the final and very tiring stage of the persistence process, people's anticipatory psychology is very important. I continued to keep walking until I was about to cross the finish line when I heard my name mentioned on the radio in Mandarin. I was so happy when I crossed the finish line. I finally completed the first full marathon in my life.
People say that life is like a marathon, but if you have never run a marathon, you will not be able to understand this sentence. Persevere, work hard, no matter how painful it is, run happily, enjoy all the ups and downs of life, and finally have a life without regrets. There is nothing you can't do, it just depends on whether you have enough confidence and persistence.
Finally, let me tell you why I participated in this marathon:
1. The last day of the Horse Month in the Year of the Monkey
2. Participating in the 38th Yellow Marathon at the age of 38
3. Life requires many firsts
After the race:
After passing the finish line, I saw the organizer’s oranges and other supplies, but I just ate them myself I ate a piece of orange and drank a sip of water. Later I found that when I needed water and food the most, I couldn't go back to eat and drink. I regretted it so much.
I was walking slowly to find the bathroom by myself. When I stopped to ask for directions, the cramp struck me again. I was unprepared and almost fell to the ground. Fortunately, the two people I asked about immediately stopped me. After several minutes of moving forward and backward to find a relaxing position, I was able to stand on my own. Someone passed by and asked if he needed first aid. In fact, many people received first aid. Fortunately I'm not one of them.
After running and having no time to eat, I went to catch a flight. More than 10 minutes before waiting for the flight, I had another Hungry Jack double-decker burger and gave me a free ice cream. I flew back and found that my left leg started to tingle. I endured the pain during the 5-way acid discharge run the next day, but miraculously the pain disappeared after the run. Although there were recurrences later, I was able to return to my normal pace during another 7-kilometer relaxed run on the third day, and almost completely recovered. Going back to everyone’s common knowledge, there is no painless first time.
