What are the good methods for roof insulation of self-built houses?

I am also very upset about this problem! Because my house is a little small, with only three floors, it is enough to arrange a room on the third floor. I envy those who have spacious houses. The rooms on the first and second floors have been decorated, and the third floor is purely for heat insulation! And I don't have such a good life. I live on the top floor and try my best to insulate myself every summer. I have tried many ways to insulate the top floor, but only one is the most effective! Let me tell you what "tricks" I have used to "insulate the top floor of my own house".

1. Water cooling

There have been many summers before, I lived on the top floor and suffered from the heat every day! Especially in those sultry nights, even the wind from the fan is hot, and that feeling can't be described in words!

After exposure to the sun, the temperature of concrete on the floor can be scorched. In order to sleep well at night, "take a cold bath" on the roof every day after dark. This indigenous method of "watering the roof to cool down" does have a certain effect, but it is both troublesome and water-consuming. I don't think it's a long-term solution, so I changed it another way!

2. Insulation cooling

After thinking that watering is not an effective way to cool down, I use the red bricks left over from building a house at home as the insulation layer, that is, laying the red bricks on the roof, laying them sideways to a height of about 12 cm, and reserving vents around them, which is much better than watering to cool down!

As there were not many red bricks left, I used some old asbestos tiles to build the roof. Although the roof is messy, it can play a role in heat insulation more or less!

3. Floor tile insulation

Because asbestos tiles are easily weathered after being weathered by the wind and the sun, and because it really affects the environmental sanitation of the roof, and rural people will definitely sun some agricultural products on the roof, I can only clean up the asbestos tiles on the roof like garbage.

Then I went to the building materials market to pick a few cheapest floor tiles and spread them at home! One is for heat insulation, and the other is for the convenience of drying rice, but in hot summer, laying floor tiles for heat insulation is not ideal.

4. Green plant insulation

Later, I heard that planting some flowers and plants on the roof can also play a role in heat insulation, but as a rural person, how can I have the leisure to fiddle with these? I thought, why don't we plant some vegetables? Maybe kill two birds with one stone. So I planted some seasonal vegetables on the floor of my room, which really killed two birds with one stone, keeping warm and growing vegetables!

5. Technical cooling

The idea and effect of planting vegetables on the floor for heat insulation are good, but many vegetables can't survive the hot summer because of lack of water and improper care! Just like the pumpkin seedlings I planted now, the leaves began to turn yellow because of lack of water, and the temperature on the floor was almost withered because of the high temperature these days.

The temperature these days is really terrible, so I bought an air conditioner at home, so I won't be too hot to sleep!

Since I installed the air conditioner, I finally bid farewell to the unbearable hot life. I have to admit the power of technology. I used to try my best to do heat insulation on the roof, but now an air conditioner has solved all the problems!

Before, I was thinking, if I can, I'll add another floor to make insulation, but after calculating the cost, I might as well buy an air conditioner. The converted cost is enough to pay the electricity bill for many years!

All the insulation methods used before are really ridiculous. Seriously, the easiest and quickest way is to install air conditioning! It's time for us farmers to live a sigh air-conditioned life!
