What is the difference between triangular impact roller and pentagonal impact roller?

The kinetic energy brought by traction will be converted into the potential energy and kinetic energy of the roller, and at the same time, the buffer mechanism will start to work, so that the buffer cylinder of the accumulator will shrink and the accumulator will store energy, which is embodied in the fact that the movement of the roller lags behind the movement of the fuselage.

When the center of gravity of the impact wheel rolls forward at the highest point of the curve, the potential energy of the impact wheel begins to be converted into kinetic energy, the buffer cylinder of the accumulator is extended, and the pressure in the accumulator can be released and converted into kinetic energy of the impact wheel. Specifically, the motion of the impact wheel is greater than that of the fuselage, which makes up for the lag displacement in the previous stage. Due to the special structure of the impact wheel, the center of gravity has a forward linear velocity and a downward linear velocity until the lowest point of the other curve of the impact wheel touches the ground, and the downward linear velocity and kinetic energy reach the maximum. When another curve of the impact wheel touches the ground, it begins to impact and tamp the ground. The greater the tractor speed, the greater the contraction of the buffer cylinder of the accumulator in the first stage, and the more energy is stored. The greater the energy released in the second stage is converted into the kinetic energy of the impact wheel, the more kinetic energy is used to impact and tamp the ground, and the better the impact effect is. According to experience and speed requirements of impact roller, the most suitable rolling speed is10 ~15 km/h.

Pentagonal impact roller is mainly used to crush old pavement.

Pentagonal impact roller

The pentagonal impact roller, driven by a tractor, rolls quickly with non-circular wheels, and its continuous high-amplitude and low-frequency impact force impacts and breaks concrete slabs, resulting in strong shock wave propagation to the subbase under the slabs and the soil foundation, and the depth of compaction influence increases year by year, so that the impact-broken slabs can be compacted firmly and form a high-strength pavement subbase, thus achieving the purpose of greatly reducing the reflection cracks of the original pavement slabs and improving the compactness and bearing capacity of the original subgrade pavement. The traditional way to rebuild the old concrete pavement is to break the panel with a gravity hammer or a gravity impact hammer, and then stabilize the pressure with a roller, and pave a layer on it. Using pentagonal impact roller can combine the two processes of crushing and compaction of old concrete pavement, and the construction speed is much faster than traditional methods.
