Schopenhauer said: The world is what I am. For me, there is only one boundary in this world: me and non-me.

For an individual, it is meaningless if he is willing or forced to pay for the pursuit of others instead of living for himself. Because what kind of life value you pay for is beyond your control, and there is not much causal relationship with your pay. Most people in this world are busy with marriage, fame, work, children and so on all their lives. They don't know why they are alive. They devote their lives to others or groups, but ignore themselves. Some parents, who love their children, have been paying unconditionally for their children all their lives. Their children are pampered at home, arrogant and domineering, and accomplish nothing outside. What's the point of such a sacrifice?

I'm not saying that people should be extremely selfish, not helping others or serving the group. It means that between helping others and helping ourselves, we are still the most important, depending on whether the other party really needs your help. In fact, many of our initiatives to help others are flattering ourselves and doing bad things with good intentions.

Originally, whether we help others or not is our own business. If we want to help, we will. We won't help if we don't want to. This is our right. There is no such thing as "should". But now the situation is: you will help others of your own free will, but it is precisely because of your education and social brainwashing that you think you should help others, and it is "natural" to help others. Because your education, the guidance of social values and the expectations of others are all trying to turn you into "for others", which will inevitably stifle your self-independence.

Once a person accepts the assimilation of the group, he will only become a tool of socialization. If you are assimilated by others, you will be partially dominated by others and naturally become weak. The social value evaluation system is vague, chaotic and pluralistic. Pursuing the recognition of the group or others will inevitably make you lost and lack self-confidence. Because you don't know how to choose, you can't be sure whether you are right or not. You will find that many people are sticking to the opposite idea, so you can't help but doubt yourself subconsciously, and you can't fully implement and express your beliefs with confidence. Such a heart is doomed to be unable to be strong. Therefore, if you want to be strong, you don't need to care about the criteria of society and groups.

People used to tell you what was right and what was wrong. What you should and shouldn't do. You have never calmed down to listen to your inner voice, and you have never respected your thoughts and preferences. How can you be happy if you don't satisfy your own preferences? From now on, you completely put aside the influence of others and social concepts on you, and reconsider right and wrong from caring about yourself. You are the most important, so what you like is right and good, and what you hate is wrong and bad.

So from now on, no one needs to tell you what to care about. No one can control you, you only care about you, and you begin to take full control of your own destiny.
