How many kilograms of grain would be given to them per acre of land in a year? At that time, it was all done manually, and everyone would go out early and leave late every day. Returning home, we were working with our backs to the sky and our faces to the loess. Even so, the output was not very high. Sometimes we paid the rent and sold some, but our own food supply was no longer available. Then you have to borrow grain from others again! Only when you say good things to others will they be willing to lend you their millet. During the busy farming season, we are so busy that our feet never touch the ground. During the off-season, my mother worked as a helper for construction workers, doing cement work and moving bricks. She only earned ten or twenty yuan a day. So every day after school we cook and eat by ourselves. This is how children from poor families have become masters!
