If these two abilities are weak, we must pay attention to cultivating them in our life! How to draw a good still life at present? In fact, by mastering several skills, constantly solving these problems, and constantly practicing and honing, the picture of your still life painting will definitely reach several levels!

If you want to draw a good still life, first of all, don't dig the part, you must grasp the big relationship and shape the part in the whole! The part should obey the whole and adjust the relationship while shaping. The relationship here mainly refers to the relationship between texture, space, volume and modeling of a still life painting. The following is an example.

The most important thing in painting is modeling ability, which plays a leading role in the whole painting. Whether drawing geometric objects, still life or sketch, head or bust, modeling is the first! "Vivid and flexible" and "true and accurate" are the evaluation criteria of modeling! This modeling problem can be seen both inside and outside the industry, just like the following four paintings, which were drawn by my former students. I will take the head portrait as an example to illustrate the same pattern, but the following four students exhale differently. The upper two students are weak in shape, while the lower two are relatively comfortable. You can see that the head shape of the upper left classmate is too round and has no sense of modeling. There is a word "Ning" in art. The upper right one is slightly better than the upper left one, with a slightly elongated face and an organ shape, but the image of the top of the head has been flattened by bulldozers! After reading these two pictures, it will be much better to look at the following two pictures! I think a person who paints differently can also see these modeling problems! Of course, if you are in the college entrance examination, this will also be a factor affecting your score!

The avatar will be more obvious. Let's take a look at still life! The modeling principle is the same. On the left is a picture from a movie. It can be seen that the shape of subject and object is too round. Even a jar has bones. If the bone points out, it will have a more sense of shape. The shape of the jar mouth is very difficult, and it will be wrong if you are not careful! In fact, we should not only pay attention to modeling that is not mentioned, but also pay attention to modeling of object projection. How can the shadow of the altar mouth in the title be straight when it falls on the curved surface of the altar In addition, the shapes of the secondary main objects, pears, space peppers and tomatoes, are compared with similar pictures. It can be seen that the shape of the small object on the left is too superficial and looks like it, but it is actually fake, and it has no feeling of finding a shape, too mechanical and lifeless! The shape in a still life painting is not only about these objects, but also the tablecloth and background in the picture have their own shapes! Therefore, if you want to draw a good still life painting, the first point is to pay attention to the modeling relationship from beginning to end.

After talking about modeling relationship, let's talk about volume relationship. Art students all know that to express the volume of an object, it needs three major faces: dark, gray and bright, and five major colors: projection, reflection, light-dark boundary, bright gray and highlight! But it doesn't mean that when these elements are piled up, the volume will be there, and they have to be compared and reconciled. Pay special attention to the importance of the dark parts of all objects. The dark part must be whole and can hold down the picture. It is inseparable from the gray surface. The dark part of the jar on the left is a bit like the gray part! The reflection of the pear is too bright, indicating that the dark part is incomplete. Therefore, in order to draw a good still life painting, the volume relationship should be constantly compared with the color scale relationship of the three major faces and the harmonious relationship of the five major tones.

Let's talk about spatial relations first. There is such a thing as depth of field when taking pictures now! This is a false background and highlights the theme. In fact, the spatial relationship in the picture is similar. Doing spatial relations also makes the picture feel deeper, more layered and more rhythmic! Spatial relationship can be expressed by virtual reality. There is a saying in art that "reality is close to virtuality". Combining the following picture and comparing the left and right pictures, the sense of space in the right picture will be much stronger. The "S" composition itself is easy to stretch the space and make it blurred. The black and white contrast of the front object is strong and the shape is clear! The contrast between the object and the interlayer behind it is very sharp. In layman's terms, it is: "The black one is not so black, and the white one is not so white!" Not only the whole picture needs space, but also every object needs space. As long as it exists in space, it is also close to reality and far from virtual!

Finally, the relationship between texture, which is a relatively high requirement. The materials of different objects are different, and the inherent colors are different. Students who have higher requirements for themselves can ponder and study the texture again!

So if you want to draw a good sketch still life, you can improve it from these aspects first! Attention should be paid to the accurate modeling of objects in the picture, strong volume and strong sense of space in the whole painting. If you can show the texture of the object, so much the better!
