1May, 940, Xian Xinghai went to the Soviet Union for post-production and soundtrack of the large-scale documentary Yan 'an and the Eighth Route Army. 1941On June 22nd, with the outbreak of the Soviet-German war, the production of this film stopped. He wanted to return to Yan 'an via Xinjiang, but he was forced to stay in Almaty, Kazakhstan because of the strong opposition of local warlords, and the traffic was interrupted.

At the beginning of 1945, the Soviet authorities sent him to the Kremlin hospital in Moscow for treatment. As soon as he was admitted to the hospital, Xian Xinghai began to compose the orchestral Rhapsody of China. However, the disease was ruthless, and he died in the Kremlin hospital on 10, at the age of 40.

Xian Xinghai Avenue:199810/0/On October 7th, according to the order of the mayor of Almaty, Vladimir Avenue was renamed as Xian Xinghai Avenue, and a monument was erected for Xian Xinghai. Xian Xinghai Avenue is located in the east of Almaty, adjacent to a busy main road with tree-lined streets.

At the corner of the street, there is a lotus-shaped Xian Xinghai Monument. The lower part of the monument is a lotus leaf and the upper part is a lotus flower. Lotus is pure and elegant, symbolizing oriental culture. Engraved in Chinese, Kazakh and Russian, the inscription reads: "I would like to name this street Xian Xinghai Avenue after Xian Xinghai, an outstanding composer of China and an envoy of Sino-Kazakh friendship and cultural exchange."
