Lane 36 of Jinjiang Street: From Buhou Street to Chunxi Road.

1947 I 16 years old entered the provincial Chengdu middle school senior high school. At the school gate, Yu Youren's book "Chengdu Middle School in Sichuan Province" has eight characters, referred to as "provincial capital"; It was one of the four famous schools in Chengdu at that time. I'm new here, so I'm nervous about the course and dare not neglect it. Every weekend, going to the movies or visiting the old book stand on Qingnian Road is the most indulgent. Therefore, Jiuli Sanfen City is familiar with the route from Wushitang Street to Chunxi Road where the school is located. What I saw and heard along the way is also a glimpse of the street view of old Chengdu. Because Chunxi Road is arranged in the first volume of the book, let's talk about crossing the street opposite Ganhuaishu Street. As for the experience of five generations living together in Ganhuaishu Street, I will talk about it later.

Go straight on Ganhuai Street and you will find Buhou Street. The first one on the left side of the street is Zhicheng Commercial Senior Vocational School, which trains accounting talents in technical secondary schools. Dacheng Middle School (now Chengdu No.3 Middle School), whose predecessor was Confucius Tang Sheng founded by Xu Zi Hugh, one of the "five old men and seven wise men", recruited students to respect Confucius and read classics in order to counter the May 4th New Culture Movement. Later, it was renamed Dacheng Middle School, and the course still set up classics reading subjects. There is also a memorial tablet of Confucius in Dacheng Hall on campus, and it is so beautiful to gather all the teachers and students from time to time to knock on their knees. The west is also adjacent to Chengdu Grand Theatre, performing Sichuan Opera; Next to the back walls of many houses in the west, the walls are covered with green vines. The theater and many houses were located in the Qing Dynasty. The street is in the latter, called Buhou Street. Street is located in the former political department, called Buqian Street (renamed Huaxing East Street in the Republic of China). In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there is also a garden and backyard on the right. The scenic spots include Bobo Pavilion, Hung Hom Bridge, Flower Pier, Jiecuixuan, Xiaolu Pavilion, etc. The scenery must be very good. Yiyuan Garden was built in Qianlong period, but it disappeared in Guangxu period. During the Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ceased to exist and evolved into a theater and a house. After liberation, it was West Sichuan Daily, and now it is Sichuan Daily.

The first one on the right of Buhou Street is the New Sichuan Pavilion, which is the hotel. Adjacent to the mansion in the west, it is a famous Sun Jia garden in Qing Dynasty, the first overseer of Xiong Kewu Mansion in Sichuan in the Republic of China, and the provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles after liberation. I entered this mansion at the age of 2 1 and wasted 55 years. Now I am 76 years old, and I am still here.

Let's go back to the old Bear Mansion. The high wall of the house faces the street, and the wall is embedded with horse stones. Black painted double doors, doors full of zygotes (so-called entrances in Japan), walls painted with golden unicorns, surrounded by five bats. The house has five entrances, wooden bungalows, and a combination of Chinese and western. This mansion consists of seven courtyards and two gardens. There are rockeries, mountain pavilions, ponds, waterside pavilions and flower halls in the park. In every small yard, there are exotic flowers and plants and a nanmu tree. The room is elegant and quiet, and it is very comfortable to live in. When I think about it, it's like waking up from a dream, without a tile, which is embarrassing.

The last one on the right side of Buhou Street is the famous banquet hall Yurong Paradise, which is called "Authentic Sichuan Style" and was founded in 19 1 1. The Lan brothers, the owner of the garden, are good at cooking, combine the characteristics of Beijing cuisine and Jiangsu cuisine, carry the banner of Sichuan cuisine, and change the old pattern of "eight bowls of meat", "nine bowls of bucket" and "feast your eyes" of Sichuan cuisine. It is also good at management, often leaving dozens of tables and seats in the lobby, making arrangements quickly and properly to ensure customer satisfaction. It is common to pass by the door, stick red knots and hold big wedding banquets. Rongleyuan moved to the street after liberation. The old site no longer exists, but now it is the Starlight Hotel.

Brehon Street goes to the end, near the intersection. If you go straight, it is Cihuitang Street. Although not online, you should know that there is a big house on the right side of the street with a gold plaque "Cihuitang" hanging on the door. Originally a government-run charity, it was changed to a non-governmental organization in the Republic of China. 1923, Yin, one of the "five old men and seven sages", was elected as the prime minister. Since then, Cihuitang has opened a match factory, and its products are sold all over the province. It also runs a voluntary school, a reformatory for blind children, a reformatory for baby girls, a loan institution for the poor and a reformatory for orphans and poor children. The combination of relief and production and public and private donations have increased the output of the guild hall, covering an area of 10,000 mu and 200 rooms. Relief for thousands of people is really effective. Yin has made outstanding achievements in managing Cihuitang. During his tenure, he signed a letter with Xu Zi Hugh, Zeng Huanru and others. Give it to Liu Xiang, and demand that cars be banned from entering the city. The reason is that "cars rumble and stand out from the crowd" and "people are as timid as mice in their twilight years", so they are also regarded as "five old men and seven sages" conservatives.

Go back to walk. Now stand at the west end of Buhou Street, and turn left to Zitongqiao Street. Thousands of years ago in the Tang Dynasty, this street was a river. The riverbed produces high-quality diamond sand, which can dissect jade, hence the name Xie Yuxi. The river entered the city from the water cave in the northwest corner of the city thousands of years ago, flowing through Qinglong Street, Xiyulong Street, Yudaiqiao Street, Yusha Street, Dongyulong Street and Guiwangqiao Street, winding here and still flowing to the southeast. Then it passes through Dongjinjiang Street, flows in front of the south gate of Daci Temple at that time, and enters Neijiang Old Road through Mill Street. Where there is a river, there is a bridge. The bridge that once existed here is east-west. Qiaoxi is today's Zitong Bridge West Street, and Qiaodong is today's Sichuan Daily. As mentioned earlier, the address of Sichuan Daily is the seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Qing Dynasty. There are small bridges and ponds in the garden on the right side of the headquarters, and the water source should be Xie Yuxi outside the headquarters. There is no doubt about the existence of this river. 1950 Street Repair, Guiwangqiao Street, Shuangzhazi Street and Zitongqiao Street have been dug all the way from north to south, and the Shi Zhuan embankment below is still there, which is conclusive evidence. The bridge here is named Zitong Bridge because of the Zitong Temple dedicated to Zhang Yazi, the emperor of Wenchang. Qiqushan Temple in Zitong County, northern Sichuan is the temple of Zhang Yazi, also known as Zitong Emperor. Zitong and Zishan pass water and place names have nothing to do with Chengdu.

Arriving at the north entrance of Zitong Bridge main street, the market became lively, showing that it was almost a bustling block. The first one on the left side of the street is Juxian Tea House, and there are people upstairs and downstairs. Another article is exclusive.

Juxian Teahouse goes south, and on the left are small hotels, noodle shops, small restaurants, barber shops, cigarette shops and so on. Then there is a dessert shop with the same name and surname, and the same owner (Shu people call it Hua) sells water chestnut cakes and glutinous rice balls, and the business is light. After going to two or three restaurants in the south, it is the famous Xue Ji noodle restaurant, where eel noodles and various snacks, such as jiaozi and steamed dumplings, are sold very well. Millet is the representative of five grains, as white as pasta. Further south, there is Changmeixuan restaurant, which is famous for steamed meat with lotus leaves, meat pie soup and cold beef offal. The cooked rice is different from the steamed ladle in general restaurants, and it is steamed in a small bowl. The above is on the left side of Zitongqiao Street. The first shop on the right side of the street is the sauce garden shop. There are marinade shops, famous crispy ducks and geese, small hotels and noodle restaurants in the south. Further on, opposite the west street corner of Zitong Bridge, there is a mounting shop called Xiuguzhai, which also sells antique calligraphy and painting. Opened in the late Qing Dynasty, the owner's surname is Qin. There is also a pastry shop, which is famous for Japanese flowers and cakes. It was also opened in the late Qing Dynasty. Zitong Bridge is at the end of the street, near the crossroads. If you go straight, it's Fuxing Street. Although it is not online, you should know that this street is dedicated to selling hats. The old ones are melon skin hats and felt nest hats, and the new ones are military hats and student hats. There is an ancient bamboo grove snack on the right side of the north entrance of the street, which is famous for its white intestines, pot swings and hat-burning knots (swollen small intestines of pigs). Garlic and white meat are cheap and worth the money. The meat is so thin that it is translucent that the boiling soup is cooked as soon as it is heated. Drain and add seasoning to cover garlic paste, which is tender but not greasy. Serve the food quickly and sit down to eat. Went to a big hotel in the south, and changed it into an "Allied Hostel" in the late period of the Anti-Japanese War to recruit prostitutes to meet the needs of US military personnel. Although ugliness is involved, it will not work if it is not involved, which will embarrass the municipal government.

Turn right at the south exit of Zitongqiao Street, which is Huaxing Street, and has entered the bustling block. If two drug stores, a tea shop and a tea garden are considered as "food stores", it will really be a street to eat. The food of Chengdu people is settled in this street, and there is no dispute. Curiously, a drugstore is Li Ji Tianfutang, which produces and sells ferulic pills and specializes in "food retention"-eating too much and getting sick. There are so many signs and varieties in those food stores that I can't remember them, so I won't introduce them one by one.

Only two schools have relations with a middle school student who is not a rich boy. Let's talk about it separately. One is Liu Liu Douhua Noodle Restaurant, which is diagonally opposite to the north entrance of the commercial market. Add fried soybeans, cooked oil, peppers and kohlrabi to the bean curd noodles, and the bean curd will be tender in a bowl. Bean flower vegetarian rice, an old bean flower is put into a small bowl alone with hot sauce, pepper and chopped green onion, which is very appetizing. Both of them are very cheap and the customers are crowded. The other one has no shop, and has set up a stall under the high wall opposite the Liu Liu Tofu Noodle Restaurant, specializing in cooking rice. Boil soup, cold rice is cooked, scoop it into a bowl, put a pinch of sprouts, sprinkle a few chopped green onion and pick a spoonful of lard, which is most suitable for drivers, vendors and students. The word "rice" can be found in the posthumous work of Xuanhe in the Great Song Dynasty, and boiled in boiling soup. Nowadays, people can't read, and the signboard is "eat a meal". It is ok to avoid being strong. Dare not laugh at them, they are the majority.

What you can't miss in Huaxing Street is Yuelai Theater (now Yuelai Tea Garden). Formerly known as Yuelai Tea Garden, it is a tea garden-style theater built in the first year of Xuantong (A.D. 1909). Tea garden theater, the stage is open on three sides and protrudes forward. There are coffee tables in the front pool, left pool and right pool under the stage. A table with five chairs can seat five people. The tea table is surrounded by the stage on three sides, and the audience watches the play from three sides. Seats in the front pool are higher, and seats in the left pool and the right pool are lower. Its pattern still existed in the Song Dynasty. And those that are different, there are rooms in front pool, left pool and right pool field, which specially arrange female guests to sit down to avoid confusion. The buildings are connected in a concave shape, just like a temple theater.

Yuelai Tea Garden was originally located on the side of Lao Lang Temple, because Lao Lang is the patron saint of actors, just like a carpenter worships Lu Ban and asks for his blessing. It is said that Lao Lang was Li Longji, the emperor of the Tang Dynasty, who established a pear garden as the ancestor of the troupe. Yuelai Tea Garden was completed, and more than 300 people from 9 Sichuan Opera Troupes in Chengdu used to perform in temples and halls. At this time, they formed the Sanqing Club (Sichuan Opera Troupe) and performed there all the year round. With a fixed performance place, the survival of actors is guaranteed, and the art of Sichuan opera has been greatly improved. By the end of the 1940s, it had been called Yuelai Theatre, and its plays included the guillotine, Chen Shufang's Nine Degrees Literature and Ten Degrees Wife, and other institutional settings. There were large advertisements on the door, depicting half-naked women. Also staged a new drama "Sargam and His Wife", trying to "innovate" in Sichuan Opera. At that time, Sichuan opera was already in recession, indicating that classical art had not fully adapted to the secular appetite of modern commercial society. What I loved at that time was the new literature since the May 4th Movement. I never watched Sichuan Opera and thought it was too outdated. However, I secretly appreciate the singing of Kratos in the stable, the Palace of Eternal Life and the Palace of Yanghe, and like to watch funny dramas such as Marrying Mom, Seeking Medical Treatment and The Tailor Stealing Cloth.

It's not over here on Huaxing Street, so I won't go there for a short time. Now turn left. It's the north exit of the commercial market. Chengdu has a commercial market, and Beijing has an Dongan market; As for Chunxi Road, it goes without saying that it is Wangfujing. The earliest name of the commercial market is Quanyechang, which was built in the first year of Xuantong (AD 1909) and is the earliest modern shopping mall in Chengdu. The following year, it was renamed as a commercial field. There are Yang Guang department store, silks and satins, clothes, boots and shoes, official hats and robes, furs, saddles, embroidered jacquard, glass jade, palace powder, pancreas, towel comb, Parisian perfume, Tessie satin, western velvet, Taiwan Province banquet, clock mirror, calligraphy and painting antiques, bamboo silk handicrafts, ancient embroidery and porcelain carving, book printing, Guangdong candy and Fujian silk. There are shops on both sides of the pedestrian street in the stadium, both on the first floor and the bottom floor. The cloister upstairs is surrounded by railings. There are gates at the front and rear entrances, which open in the morning and close at night. A generator was installed in the northwest corner of the site for full-field lighting. At dusk, citizens flocked to watch the lights on.

At that time, it was Zhou Xiaohuai, a native of Zhejiang and Chengdu, who advised him to go to Yin. The completion of the shopping mall depends on his promotion. This man went to Japan seven times to study the Meiji Restoration in Japan. When he first became an inspector, Daoyin was only 30 years old. It is also up to him to establish a modern police system in Sichuan. Those two Daoyin are only seven years old and practical. Shu people summed up his achievements and sang a song with the word "prostitute factory". The main points are as follows.

Prostitute? He managed tens of thousands of prostitutes in Chengdu, set up a red light district, legalized prostitutes and donated flowers. Send police to guard Tianya Stone Street and Maojiaguai Street, and forbid local ruffians and hooligans to make trouble and young children to make mistakes. At the same time, private prostitution is prohibited and offenders will be punished.

Factory? Many charitable factories have been established, including spinning mills, paper mills, children's education factories, beggar factories and hospitals for the elderly, the weak and the sick.

? Singing? The tea garden theater introduced earlier, called Yuelai, was built with his support. At the same time, a drama improvement association was established to personally review Sichuan opera programs and organize literati to revise scripts.

Field? The commercial market has promoted Chengdu's industry and commerce, making Chengdu people feel refreshed. 19 17 was destroyed by the fire. See Ba Jin's novel Home. After the original restoration, a new venue was opened, with Yuelai Stadium on the right and a new venue on the left, which has been busy for many years. 1933 is on fire again. The cause of the fire, my mother said, was that someone threw a cigarette butt and fell into the basket with shavings, which made him very helpless. After that, I barely repaired it and did not return to the old concept. There are no more shops upstairs and no more pomp downstairs. On the right, Yuelaichang opened the White Rose Tea Room and Yichun Bathroom, and on the left, Xinjichang opened the Er Quan Tea Room and Daguangming Hairdressing Room, showing the changes of the world.

In the eyes of county teenagers, I think the commercial market is prosperous enough. I came here for the first time to "appreciate" glass silk stockings, Hong Kong celluloid mahjong tiles, Shanghai Chlodan lipstick and other luxury goods. Looking at the sky-high price of the label is staggering, but I know that the gap between the rich and the poor is so. Now the old market is too small to exist, and the four-story reinforced concrete building in front of us has become the fourth commercial market and lost its charm.

The south entrance of the commercial field is diagonally opposite to the north entrance of Chunxi Road. Chunxi Road is newly built 1924, which is later than the commercial market. This road is divided into four sections: north, south, east and west. These four parts combine to form the center of the bustling block. People in the county don't go to Chengdu, but say "go" to Chengdu. When you come to Chengdu, take a trip to Chunxi Road if you have something to do, otherwise you won't be in Chengdu. It can be seen that Chunxi Road is the object of some people's psychological needs. I came to Chengdu to attend high school. Needless to say, I will go to Chunxi Road on weekends. From 1950, it has become a habit to take a walk and have a meal at Chunxi Road after work. Today's Chunxi Road has luxurious buildings and splendid night scenes. In the past, Chunxi Road was as exquisite as a pearl and ethereal as a dream. "Distance is beautiful", that's it.

Dreaming with pearls, I walked into the northern section of Chunxi Road. As a middle school student, I turn a blind eye to those silks and satins, Yang Guang department store, ginseng and velvet, restaurants and teahouses, and only look at those interesting ones. Walking into the north street, the counter of the stone knife and scissors shop on the right, all kinds of knives, ancient and magical, exquisite and beautiful. The signboard is "Liaoning and Guangdong" and the products are made locally. There is a blacksmith's furnace under the suburban township, which makes all kinds of knives, all of which were bought by Liao Guangdong and put on the counter here. Lin Qiong iron forging machine was well-known as early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, so it was naturally "Guangdong and Guangxi". When Wen Weng ruled Shu in the Western Han Dynasty, the first batch of overseas students went to Chang 'an for further study. They took Shu Bu and book knives (two famous brands) to Chang 'an to sell money to pay tuition. Book knives belong to stationery and are used to scrape and correct bamboo slips. The vertical knife on the right of the word is a book knife. It is said that this knife shop is "ancient and magical", as such. The knife and scissors shop is adjacent to a small shop in the south, and it is also very imposing to sell Chinese and foreign maps. The south is also adjacent to the World Bookstore, which is very narrow. It is also adjacent to Timely Watch Glasses Company in the south. Punctuality means punctuality, which means clocks and watches. It is adjacent to Xichun Hotel (Hotel) in the south and has never been inside. In a high-end hair salon in the south, the window is decorated with stills of upcoming Hollywood movies and domestic movies, which attracted me to stop and look closely. At that time, there was a "False Phoenix" directed by Shi Hui. The plot was that the barber stretched himself (showed off) and fell in love. This senior hairdressing salon took the lead in contacting the hairdressing industry in the whole city to protest, and posted widely, accusing the film of "insulting colleagues". There was no screening in the cinema for fear of being damaged.

Further south, there are several branches in Chengdu, the Commercial Press, which monopolize the publishing of books in this library, which is of high grade and is highly valued by the world. I am a primary school, and my textbooks are all business books. I feel very kind when I see the business emblem. There is a NewChina bookstore in the south, where I bought a book "New China" written by an American journalist, introducing the present situation of China in chapters. English is easy to read and understand. Visiting the bookstore on Sunday, of course, you can read standing up, but after all, it is not reading. The advantage of visiting a bookstore is not reading, but laying a good foundation in bibliography. At the same time, we can achieve the effect of "Hebo watching the sea" and see our ugliness clearly.

I haven't been to any restaurant on Chunxi Road. I only ate baked cookies at the entrance of Sanyi Palace in the north section. Fat meat with chopped green onion is crispy, fragrant and cheap.

On the left of Xichun North Street, Sanyi Palace is opposite Dahua Cinema. I have seen many movies here, the number of which is second only to that of Zhiyu Cinema in Zongfu Street. Unforgettable is "Eight Thousand Miles of Clouds and the Moon" starring Bai Yang. The heroine belongs to a troupe. She was knocked unconscious by a car and made me cry.

There is a department store at the south exit of the northern section called Jufuxiang, which has a big sale in spring, summer, autumn and year-end. It makes people laugh all year round. And there are bands advocating, or playing Zhou Xuan's songs with loudspeakers, which is terrible. There is also a silver shop in the south exit of the northern section. I used to sell gold rings. 1948 before the fall semester, my mother took off her gold ring and asked me to send it to Tiancheng Silver House to exchange money. I've never sold anything, and I feel embarrassed. Knowing that I was "worthless", she said, "You pass it to the high counter and don't say a word. The children in the silver shop are innocent and will not give you a dollar less. " I went from Chengdu to Chunxi Road, and it was the same. Mr. Business put the gold ring on the balance and announced the weight. Rub the gold ring on the black stone board again, leaving a gold mark. Then compare the samples and report the color. Seeing that I had no objection, he paid the money. I was deeply impressed by the old signboard's emphasis on credit.

Entering the north exit of the south section of Xichun, the news building on the left side of the street stands out from the crowd, which is the tallest building on Chunxi Road in the past. Here comes the new news. This private daily newspaper has four, eight and two editions, which contains news from many places in the province and has the largest number of subscribers. Local news exposes corruption and dares to speak out, but it is limited to catching flies and mice. There is a speech column in Japan called Xiao Tie Zhui, which is 500 to 600 words (today's essay) and is very popular with readers. I used to subscribe to New News at home. Luo Express from the county seat, riding to Chengdu every morning, getting the newspaper, riding home at dusk and delivering it to the subscriber's home. Reading the newspaper under the lamp, junior high school students can understand international current affairs and local news, but they can't understand advertisements such as "Cover the doctor to spend willow", "White turbidity for three days to cut the roots" and "Special circumcision is too long", and adults are also very sad to ask. There is also a "good advice notice", which is the same every day. I can recite it, but I still can't understand it. Its writing date: "I am young and ignorant, and I have strayed into a brothel. Now invite me to pull the fire pit. From now on, new knowledge and old friendship will be declined. " □□ In the text are women's names, such as Suyun, Chunfang and Lan Xiu. -Zhao Gan Sun,,, etc. It was only in high school that I learned that it was a prostitute who got out of the misery, got better after marrying someone, and expressed her determination. When you get old, you will understand that this is a prostitute who has been raised by a client for two or three months or six months. If you really want to change careers, why advertise? The facade of the first floor of the news building is the newspaper business hall. There is a long counter in the hall to separate the inside from the outside, and the outside of the desk is reserved as an aisle. Idle people can enter from here, and it is convenient to go to the new toilet room. This is also a way to "connect with the masses". There is a net cover outside the toilet to raise birds for people to watch. Jintang private Chongzheng junior high school graduates once got together on the second floor of the building and respectfully invited Chen Lai, the newspaper owner, to give a lecture. Mr. Chen is a native of Guanghan County with a kind smile. Remember your face and forget your words.

The news building is adjacent to the location of Xinhua Daily in the south. At that time, there were many newspapers posted at the entrance of the holy city of Lieutenant Colonel. The most popular newspapers were the Western Daily and the Construction Daily, while the least valued newspapers were Xinhua Daily and Zhongxing Daily. The New China Daily is run by Al-Shabaab. Zhongxing Daily is run by the Kuomintang.

Speaking of Xinhua Daily, I think of a joke. The newspaper originally called the PLA bandit troops. After the People's Liberation Army crossed the river on April 2 1, 1949, the front page headline was renamed. Title Day: "Jiang Man Jiang Hong, * * * 20,000 troops enter Ning." It's quite poetic, just like sitting on the sidelines, how fast it changes.

The most interesting memory of Chunxi Road is near 1949 crossing the river mouth, and the specific date has been forgotten. At noon on Sunday, I just walked to the junction of the northern section and the eastern section, when I suddenly heard a cry of "coming", only to see hundreds of people running around under the bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen in Yuan Yin City, fleeing for their lives. Then the pedestrians around shouted and ran away. Although I don't know what happened, I'm afraid to follow the crowd. The shops on both sides of Xichun East District are busy closing the boards, which makes me even more afraid. I don't think you can escape if you run fast. I quickly jumped onto the street, and when a tailor's shop closed, I dodged in and hid for a while. It didn't take long to hide, but I heard the sound of planking outside again. The tailor opened the door for reconnaissance, smiled back and said to me, "Nothing. I am pulling the wind again. " Think of the capital street of Chu in Zuo Zhuan, which is similar. Before the collapse of a regime, everyone dared not spread the truth with false information, so there was a trembling "arrival" surprise.

Xichun south section walked to the south exit, and a silk shop on the right was said to be opened by Zhong Yunhe, president of the Municipal Chamber of Commerce. A neighbor of my hometown, Xiao You, surnamed Peng, became an apprentice in this silk shop at the age of 15. I passed by here many times and saw him dealing with customers, thinking that it was not easy for me to teach myself. It also reminds me that when I was 1 1 years old, I practiced calligraphy with him, and both of them went to the temple to see the tablets and read the Chinese characters of two great writers in Jintang County, Jiang and Chen Fanxian, who copied them. That time will pass sooner or later, and in a few years, it will mean being strangers.

Standing at the south gate, East Street, the first long street in old Chengdu, is in front of you. It is also a bustling block, but the streets are full of trotting streetcars. The coachman said that rickshaws are first express trains, and then rickshaws. If the public doesn't accept it, it's still called a rickshaw, because it came from Shanghai at the end of 19. Is this Jonathan, an American Christian missionary? Invented by Gao Bai, the English name is "Jinricksha". In the process of invention, I was assisted by a Japanese carpenter, so my pronunciation is Japanese, also called Toyo Car. Rickshaws are generally used to pull long distances. At that time, the so-called long, about a hundred miles. If you don't pull a long distance, change the pneumatic tire into a belt tire and come to the city to pull the block, it will be renamed a street car. The sedan chair carried by two people in the past was replaced by a tram pulled by one person in the 1930s.

You are from Chengdu. When shouting "car" in the street, they all stand up straight with their arms tied (mostly from Anyue, Lezhi, Renshou and Jianyang). As soon as you heard this, you immediately pulled and asked "where". You answer a street. He said the price. You give him 20% discount. He put down the joystick and said, "Come on up." You sit on it, don't rush him, he flies away, too. There was a car coming ahead, and he shouted "Knock Down" as a warning. Every time you turn left and right, you should shout "Come less" to avoid collision. The car is rented, and the owner of the car shop extracts the "car base", which is the rent, which accounts for about half of the driver's daily income on average. If you buy your own car, your income is good and your life is better. I once saw a cartoon in the cartoon supplement of Xinxin News, which is still fresh in my memory. This photo is a small restaurant. A civil servant with glasses and a driver are sitting at a table. Holding bean sprouts, civil servants said to themselves, "Bean sprouts are nutritious." The driver grinned and shouted, "A fried pork with salt!" Zhong Wanshan, an old worker of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, recalled that he pulled a streetcar at that time and said the same thing.

Standing at the south exit of Xichun South Section, East Street is in front of you. Turn left. Go to the reading room of the provincial library to read Sing Tao Daily and Shanghai Miller Review on Sunday. Turn right. I went to the business hall of the Western Daily several times to collect the manuscript fee and buy snacks. If you don't walk left or right, walking straight is walking in the street, or resting, the beef will be burnt! Here comes the manuscript fee, I'll chew it. There are buckwheat noodles, soybean powder, fat sausage bean soup and beef stewed radish in Dongjie Town God Temple nearby, which will make people faint. After waking up, I went to Li Binyan to eat braised pork pot helmet, went to Rongguang cinema to eat rabbit silk pot helmet, and accidentally swallowed my tongue. Speaking of this Guo Kui, I have to say something. It was originally brought by Shaanxi people in the early years of Qing Dynasty after Zhang Tu Shu. Guokui cake is a kind of sesame seed cake. You need a pot with a handle to bake this kind of sesame seed cake. When it is half cooked, put it in the oven and bake it until it is fully cooked. Flat pan with handle, short handle and big head, Shaanxi people call it Guo Kui. Wei Xiao means big head. The cake baked by Guo Kui should have been called Guo Kui cake. Without the word cake, it is called Guo Kui. This saves words, just like hot pot dishes save words. It is said that if you eat hot pot, can you eat hot pot? That's the language agreement. If it doesn't work, it will do.

On the left side of the north gate of Zouma Street, when I was eating beef, I suddenly remembered the route of 1947' s student anti-civil war and anti-hunger parade, walking out of the provincial capital from Wujiajie, and then walking all the way here from Buhou Street. The demonstration team came here and stopped for a while. Lei, a senior in our class, rode to the street, turned left, came back after reconnaissance and said, "If there are no soldiers, you can go." So we moved on and shouted "Down with the King" and "Down with the Kuomintang" in front of the provincial government. Sure enough, nothing happened, and we went home with victory.

? (Part II: Old Chengdu Progress)
